If it's not broken, fix it

So, I have one of those timers in the shape of an egg in the kitchen. Very useful to remind me to turn off the stove before I burn the food. A few days ago it stopped working. The thing is old and I though it was broken but I forgot to throw it away. Today I knocked it out of the shelve and if fell. Now it's working again
I'm not saying that if you have something that stopped working you should throw it on the floor and see if it comes back to life, but in case you've already tried everything else, here's the idea.

Definitely. Most the time it's not "broken," it just needs a quick fix. Sometimes things need repaired and parts replaced, but that sort of normal thing doesn't mean it's broken. And it saves tons of money doing these repairs and fixes (and it is a kindness to the Earth).
Now, if it's like the Office printer, well, that thing is broken, lmao.

Interesting fact: That is an issue with the console's reader, not the cartridge. Nintendo even released an upright NES where the games are stuck in the console upright from the top like the SNES and N64.
I've only seen maybe two or three of those models.
I also used a TV once that had a built-in NES. It was weird. Like the TV should have had a VCR there but it got confused.

I was just watching something on our breakfast TV this morning about recycling e-waste. Phones mainly, but too many are programmed to throw away what is broken as if our earth is an infinite rubbish tip. Much of the stuff in your old phone is reusable. There are probably billions of them stashed away in draws and cupboards.
We can recycle our old phones at tech stores....is that the same where you live?

We used to have repair shops where all our broken appliances and mechanical gadgets could be repaired....but now they have all disappeared.....what a shame! Our littering is toxic to the planet and we just heard this morning how one of our states in Australia has just banned all single use plastic....about time too!!! How long have we known about this problem? I hope the rest of the country and indeed the rest of the whole world will jump on this bandwagon....

my brother and I played the original Mario for NES so much we got bored.
So following a suggestion from our dad, we turned the tv upside down and played.

Basically. We also have these kiosk thingies that will give you money for some phone models and still take the ones they won't pay for (they basically pay for ones that can be refurbished and resold).

My guess is they are disappearing because cell phones are becoming increasingly more difficult to work on. I even used to do it, but when they are stumping people who have far more experience than I have to tread lightly because I don't have the phones to learn with/accidentally break.
And plastic, I know I don't miss the bags. We still have bottles (unfortunately - but I reuse mine), but if you want plastic bags they are 10 cents a bag. And, as a result, we have super thick bags that can be reused over and over and over (I've had some for a couple years now), and you don't see the bags littering the place.

I never thought of doing that.
I may have to try this with Mega Man, Punch-Out, Super Mario 3 (I didn't get into 1 as much as I did 3, and I've never liked 2).

I still remember when the third one came out. It was the coolest thing ever until the SNES a few years later. I even still have a magazine with an EB add for Super Mario Brothers 3, brand new $49.99.
