Values and morals in the end come down to epistimically legitimate decisions only if they are in fact solely each individual's final decisions. Doesn't mean they are that person's most purely own and uninfluenced decisions. Just that they are their own final decisions.
Because of the opening point to this OP, it follows that each human can be seen as the absolute monarch in his her own court for deciding what their values and morals ought to be -- or at least deciding for themselves those things so far as is humanly possible.
Anyone or anything we consult or make use of as guides to their decisions are our royal councilors, never our final decision-makers.
My 2 cents, appropriately discounted to zero in order to give it a chance to sell, given the respect views that are not currently media driven are likely to be held in by self-selecting respondents to internet posts.
I love us humans. Don't mean I refuse to make fun of our shared human nature in any or all of its colorful flowers. Mom told everyone I must have gotten my sense of humor from some way in which she twisted and warped it during giving birth to me. Moms. Always willing to sacrifice their sanity by taking too much blame for how their kids turn out.
As a side note: if one understands the logical relevance of epistemology here, then one can see how the above is true regardless of whether god exists, and regardless of whether one believes god exists. And that is doubled if some god gave us free will while intending we use it. The actual existence of god-sanctioned values and morals is not in anyway more than preferentially meaningful here to deciding what one or anyone's values and morals ought to be. I might make a post about that someday if anyone shows any interest in it. Here, it's just a side note.
