Is God pro-abortion?

Since one of our Christian members has been posting DarkMatter2525 videos recently I thought that I would beat him to the punch with this one:

Though very satirical it does lay out a good case that if anything the Bible is pro-abortion. Anyone care to watch the video and comment?

The only reason I know of abortion being legitimate is if the life of the mother is in danger if she gives birth, In such a situation the mother would have the right to decide whether she chooses to die or abort the child.

Then you have not fully read or understood your Bible Did you watch the video? It was alluded to quite clearly. In Numbers there is the Test For An Unfaithful Wife. The test ended in an abortin if she had cheated on her husband.

Your topic is asking if God is pro abortion not what the video says.

The Bible is not the final revelation of truth from God. Since then there has been more revelations appear which explain more fully God’s Will.

Abortion is forbidden today by God except on medical grounds.

So where did God ever ban abortion?

EDIT: Oh wait, you are Bahai. I do not know how much of the Bible that you accept or reject. The Bible is clearly proabortion. Your holy book may not be so. It is still going to be rather difficult for you to justify your position.

Ok. The Bible was revealed for that time. Jesus said one day God would send another Messenger Who would explain more of God’s Will and would bring new laws.

We believe that Person was Baha’u’llah. In this age, the laws on abortion are that it is forbidden except on medical grounds as we are told the soul is born at conception so we cannot take an innocent life unless there are medical reasons.

The is the Bahai interpretation. It is not the Christian one. Neither of course are mine. One needs to remember that since religious beliefs contradict each other they cannot all be right. They can all be wrong.

Not necessarily. They can all be right also as you should be able to note how criminal laws change with the ages. At a time when there were no prisons such as in a desert environment penalties ranged from cutting of hands to stoning to death. However as times have changed these laws are giving way to more humane laws.

Also education matters. In those times the idea of conception was not as it is today so it was not believed to be a person yet in its foetal state. If one does not believe that the fetus is a person until a certain age, that will determine abortion or not.

But in this age the teachings of God clarify that the soul is created at the moment of conception so at that time exists a living person.

A fetus is not considered a person today either. At least not in a legal sense.

Anybody, who is respectful towards a female's right to have reproductive choice, should not object to the cessation of any embryo lacking at least a somewhat developed central nervous system.
