Jesus' Four Failed Prophecies About Him Returning In The Lifetimes Of His Apostles

What a beautiful insightful reply Deeje! We are the ones shouting ‘I did it MY way”. Enter WW1 and WW2. And we say we don’t need God’s ways. Enter drug addiction, suicide, domestic violence, rape, pollution, dictatorships, oppression, crime levels through the roof, - but we are doing just fine - disease, overpopulation, skyrocketing of depression and mental illnesses but yep, we have this wonderful glorious material civilisation full of consumerism and unemployment and poverty. Terrorism and gun violence rampant. Not to mention racism and its riots burning cities and in sport and universal corruption in governments worldwide, But we still know better don’t we?

For us Paul's words ring true....
"If, in fact, the good news we declare is veiled, it is veiled among those who are perishing, 4 among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, so that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through."

Its a special kind of blindness, isn't it? One that blinds the mind, not allowing anything from the senses to be processed. We believe that the god of this world was identified by Jesus. (1 John 5:19) The one who masqueraded as the serpent in Eden wanted to be worshipped as a god himself. He even tried to get Jesus to worship him.....but he was a loser from the beginning because the true God was going to give him, and all who followed him "enough rope"......can you see the gallows?

I believe any person with a shred of common sense can see clearly that our ways are only bringing more misery upon ourselves and what you have so intelligently pointed out is pure truth, yet we will continue to go our own way until it becomes so unbearable that I believe the pendulum will fully swing back to God and a virtuous unselfish society will be born. But God has left us alone to learn this lesson for ourselves the hard way because we refused to put our trust in Him but believed we could do it better. Have we?

Unfortunately, this is not how the story ends according to the Bible. The world was robbed of God's rulership by the disobedience of our first parents, and nothing done by man will ever get it back. Man has proven beyond a shadow of doubt that he lacks the ability to solve the problems that he himself has created. God will step in and actively remove from existence all who deny him and his son in their wise choice to allow mankind to prove who and what they are with no interference from him. At the end of this system of things, the wicked are forcibly removed to make way for a "new world of righteousness".....man will not in any way be involved in that eviction...Jesus and his angelic forces will do the job.

Matthew 25:31-33...
“When the Son of man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit down on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate people one from another, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And he will put the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on his left.
34 “Then the King will say to those on his right: ‘Come, you who have been blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the founding of the world. . . . .“Then he will say to those on his left: ‘Go away from me, you who have been cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the Devil and his angels."

The 'sheep and the goats' come to a dramatic parting of the ways, and this was prophesied in the book of Daniel as a result of God's Kingdom "crushing" all other kingdoms out of existence and replacing them as the world's only ruling authority. (Daniel 2:44)

All those in opposition to God's Kingdom will have no part in it. It will re-establish God's rulership over the earth and bring us back to what we lost in Eden. (Isaiah 55:11) The future then will be beyond our wildest imagination. We have never experienced that kind of rule by God. It will be truly awe inspiring to have the earth and creation back to what God intended at the start. :)

Because Christians know that the “spirit of truth” came at Pentecost which you deny. They know that is “spirit”.
And Baha'is know that the Spirit of Truth that Jesus referred to was a man called Baha'u'llah, which you deny.
They know the Son of God said he will return in person in the future.
Please cite any verses where Jesus said He would return to Earth in the future.
Don't waste your time on the Son of man in the clouds verses because I have already proven these verses cannot be about Jesus returning.

Who is the Son of man who will come in the clouds of heaven?

I think he took a wrong turn at the Milky Way galaxy. They're halfway to Andromeda by now.
That's because they were NEVER headed in this direction.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

John 14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

John 17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

And unless Jesus is coming back to play golf with former President Trump, He would have no reason to come back to Earth. ;) What about the word FINISHED do Christian s NOT understand?

John 17:4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

You don’t believe verses from the Bible when it debunks your claims so why keep asking people to quote it?

Now that you 2 have been discredited you are left to mocking God.
We are not mocking God, we are mocking the belief that a man is going to come barrelling down from the physical clouds in the sky, and sadly for Christians that belief is contradicted by very many verses in their own Bible.

I have only met Christians that believe that. They might claim to "know" but they can never justify their belief. Knowledge is demonstrable. If one knows something he can support those claims rationally.

Now belief has merit. but it is an error to claim that one knows something when one does not.
You don’t believe any of this stuff so you are just trolling the thread.

You are the pot calling the kettle black because it is YOU who doesn't believe verses from the Bible when it debunks your claims.
I believe the verses from the Bible, it is you (and other Christians) who ignore them when they conflict with what you WANT.
There are many more verses you ignore but the ones below are just for starters.

John 18:36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

Jesus left after visiting with some of his believers. He will come back as he said he would.
Yet you STILL have not provided me with even one single verse where Jesus said He was coming back. o_O:confused:

P.S. I have been posting to Christians for about seven years now on various forums and not one single Christian has ever provided me with one single verse where Jesus said He is 'coming back' to this world.

Especially when what they believe they know contradicts what it says in their very own Bible.
It is a sad day for Christians when it takes a Baha'i to point out what is ACTUALLY in the Bible and what is not.

Loving God and my neighbor as myself.
Where will I find that commandment in scripture?
Exodus 25
ח וְעָשׂוּ לִי, מִקְדָּשׁ; וְשָׁכַנְתִּי, בְּתוֹכָם. 8 And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them.

When can we expect an environment of peace and acceptance? It appears to me as though God has abandoned his people because they have never accepted Jesus as the Christ. [/quote]
Yeah, yeah, heard it all before. If this was true, why wasn't the temple destroyed for 40 years after Jesus? No, the destruction of the temple had nothing to do with Jesus and how Jews consider him irrelevant.

Nor are we abandoned. We are, after all, back in the land.

God has not left us alone because God sent Baha'u'llah who is with us always:

“Let not your hearts be perturbed, O people, when the glory of My Presence is withdrawn, and the ocean of My utterance is stilled. In My presence amongst you there is a wisdom, and in My absence there is yet another, inscrutable to all but God, the Incomparable, the All-Knowing. Verily, We behold you from Our realm of glory, and shall aid whosoever will arise for the triumph of Our Cause with the hosts of the Concourse on high and a company of Our favored angels.”

The rest of the Christian world disagrees with you as well.
Are there any other predictions Jesus made that came true but didn’t really come true because you have an agenda concerning a false Messiah who’s dead?
