Yeah, now let us do, which side is more evil, okay? :D
I am serious. Are they equally good or evil, or different?
More evil...That would be a complex thing.
Whose agenda does one favor?
What kind of violence is worse?

Arguments would be quite agenda laden, so
they don't portend productivity...just apologetics.

Are you referring to the Protestant denominations founded by virulent anti-Semite Martin Luther? Hmm. It's easy to brush history aside.

Yeah your logic is deeply flawed mate. He did not make the evangelical faith to promote anti-Semiticism he did it to promote justification by faith. I mean why stop at just one thing Martin Luther was? To be an evangelical do I have to believe beer was a good thing, marry a nun, be German? I have feeling u are the one brushing history under the carpet friend ;)

It has more to do with how Christians, especially fundamentalists and evangelicals, hold a very patronizing view about the Jews, including how they have the "completed version" of the what the Jews started.
And, yes, I heard lots and lots of respectful things for the Jews when I was an Evangelical. But, there is also lots of "god punished them for this and this and this" and a strong narrative that they are often and generally not obedient towards god. This is such an issue, that despite the saying good things about "god's chosen people," some do believe the Holocaust was sent by god due to Jewish disobedience.
As for Israel and itself, the Christian support is not support for Israel for Jews for the Jewish beliefs and traditions. It's support of Israel for Christian purposes. These are two totally different things and not at all compatible with each other.

Again evangelicals is a very broad term that could literally be applied to all protestants including super left leaning ones. I wouldn't say it was a patronising view because they would believe what we believe is the teaching of a false Messiah. I mean that's a bit condascending too isn't it? I mean I suppose it is if u take it that way, but there is an understanding amount people that we are able to disagree over these things and have discussion over them.

Ugh I hate some Christians and there holier than thow attitude and their belief they can ascribe that level of judgment on people that's not compatible with the Bible at all. What level of percentage of Christian use Israel for Christian purposes? I'm mean im sure there are some but is this the majority?

So you are okay with a socialist dictatorship in effect, where if you are a white, privileged, heterosexual, Christian male, you will go to the camps or worse because you are an enemy of the people?
And you are okay with a white racist dictatorship, where if you are non-white, poor, not heterosexual, non-Christian, would have no protection under the law, because you are not a real human?

Can I eschew both?

Can I eschew both?
Yes, and I do it too.
But these are the versions of the high order of "Evil" ascribe to the respectively 2 sides by the other.
As a centrist I don't what none of them, yet I also belong to the left.

So what is it that these 2 versions have in common? No democracy and no universal rights and laws. So the overall thread is not from one or the other of these versions. It is the thread against democracy that we can debate. And we will only do it, if you want to. :)

Left leaning ones aren't fundamentalist. Or conservative.

No! Because Christianity only exist at all because because it appropriated and heavily distorted Judaism. They do this, claim they have the Messiah, and then get confused and upset when the Jews reject what isn't theirs.

I don't know a percentage, but I know many want such things to see them not for the purposes of David but for the purposes of the Cross. Such as seeing as something to happen because of a Christian prophecy. Preparing things for Christi. Readying them for the end. They don't want to see this to see the Jews to prosper, they do this to be the new Romans to take over and tell the Jews what's best for them.

Right although Judiasm says that a Messiah will come and Christian say they have. How have they heavily distorted it to the point is isn't possible that Jesus is the Messiah ?

Like the Democratic Party being founded to defend slavery?
Democrats have pretty much given up supporting slavery. White Supremacist Protestant s still have a ways to go.

You know these things, but you just could not pass up the opportunity to try to bash Democrats. So transparent.

Since the founding of the Democrat party, Democrats have become the party supporting equal rights.

You've misunderstood the point of my post, ie,
that one cannot judge a group based upon origins.
This is true for both Democrats & Lutherans, whom
no one should insinuate to be anti-semitic.

What, specifically, did I brush under a carpet? I did not say why he founded Protestanism. I related his view on Jews. I related that others had used his teachings to kill Jews.
If you think any of that is wrong, that give us specifics.

Nah. Your point was to bash Democrats.

Today's Democrats don't want a return to slavery. Can you name any?

Proud Boys leader Terrio needed money for a criminal defense fund. How did he get it?
Proud Boys, other fringe groups find refuge – and money – on Christian fundraising website
He said family members had the idea to monetize the support of his online followers through GiveSendGo.com, a niche Christian fundraising website that bills itself as “a place to fund hope.” Within a week, the “Enrique Tarrio Defense Fund” had amassed more than $113,000 from 2,359 donors, according to the site. Tarrio has pleaded not guilty.

“It’s not just Proud Boys that are raising money there,” Tarrio said in an interview Thursday, noting that his group’s chapters nationwide have used the site to fund their cause. “There’s just so many people that are raising money there.”

A review by The Washington Post shows that the self-described Christian website has become a refuge of sorts for outcasts and extremists, including fringe groups such as the Proud Boys as well as conspiracy theorists who seek to undercut the results of the presidential election by promoting debunked claims of fraud.

None of the lefty voices I watch have expressed any anti Jewish sentiment. But that’s just my limited experience with them.

Again, attitudes toward the actions of Israel should not be conflated with attitude toward Jews.

The fact that Israel has conceded again and again to bring peace and there is never peace, actions speak louder than words.

Hardly. Israel has systematically taken Palestinian land and discriminated against Palestinians.

I have run into my fair share of Christians who were quite anti Semitic,

My parents fled Eastern Europe because of the Christian anti-Semitism that existed then and still exists now to some degree. My parents were not welcome in some places here in the USA because we are Jewish and they only wanted Christians.

Who here believes Trump will be convicted?

What does that have to do with anything? The Congressional "Republican" party is made up of liars, hypocrites and authoritarian Trump supporters with only a few exceptions who get denounced by the party in their states for not worshiping Trump.

Everyone knows southern conservatives (Confederates) voted Demokkkrat back then.

And now they are anti-American anti-Democracy Rethugicans. Your point?

Fair enough. I will not wade into that steeped history of politics and religion, if I can avoid it.

How sad. Prejudice hurts. And yet it persists everywhere

To the Editor:

The Republican defense in Donald Trump’s impeachment trial has derided the Democratic prosecution for using political theater to make its case against Mr. Trump. If the Democrats are taking lessons from Hollywood movie producers, I might suggest that the Republicans take some cues from the N.F.L.

The team that produced Sunday’s broadcast of the Super Bowl was onto something with its cardboard cutouts in the barren pandemic crowds. Why sit through a rambling defense when a cardboard cutout would be just as effective at hearing the case against the conviction of Mr. Trump? In fact, why show up to work at all if a cardboard cutout would be just as effective passing legislation? Heck, these days it’s probably safer to send a cardboard cutout in your place to the Capitol anyway.
