Trumps second Impeachment Trial Dead on Arrival

REPUBLICAN Senators have all but killed off Democratic hopes of impeaching former President Donald Trump - leaving the charge of inciting an insurrection "dead on arrival".

Trump's 2nd impeachment trial ‘dead on arrival’ as 45 GOP senators cast vote

I'm so glad the people who were taking pages from Putin's playbook, trying to ruin the possibility of Trump pursuing politics in the future had their ***** handed to them. Freedom and Democracy always win here... Always!

...Say NO, to left-wing totalitarian dictators.

No. He just told them the election was stolen (it wasn't), that the democrats cheated (they didn't), that democracy was under threat (it wasn't), and that Biden's presidency is invalid (it isn't).

And people are free to accept or deny his claims. Free speech is tricky, but I'll favor liberty and freedom as far as I possibly can until I can't... Our limits vary... My limit extends farther than most.

...The reason it extends farther than others is because I'm unwilling to "assume"...

This is why the votes for this should be anonymous.

It was apparent things would go this way after the Republicans in the House who actually showed some integrity faced backlash. Humans will generally act out of self-interest first, preserving ties to their clan or tribe.

Or maybe they're smarter than those who are satisfied using assumptions in official judgements.

In my opinion, anyone satisfied with using assumptions in regards to motives, without concrete evidence, is a conspiracy theorist themself..! Credibility ought to be lost in them.

Um, Rand Paul's motion lost that vote and the impeachment proceedings are continuing. There's worry that democrats don't have enough votes to convict, but it's hardly 'dead in the water.' It wasn't even about the merit of what Trump did but whether or not the constitution allows for impeachment proceedings to happen after a president has left office. That was what was narrowly voted 'yes' for. Not whether or not Trump incited violence.

Senators sworn in for Trump impeachment trial - CNNPolitics Talks about the concern over whether the constitutionality argument will effect final judgement, and how the trial will proceed.

Partisanship seems to hold a higher value than justice.
Are you criticizing both Dems and Pubs?
Clever you are! And I agree.

It was reasonable to impeach Trump the 2nd
time, unlike the 1st (an ill considered delusion).
But the attempt to convict appears to have failed.
(We shall see.) Holding another trial doomed to
failure appears the opposite of productive.
Perhaps this will take the wind from the sails of
those itching to impeach Biden, eh.
BTW, I wouldn't mind seeing Greene impeached.

Look up Alexei Navalny.

...He was jailed on trumped up charges so that he could never take part in politics again by the Putin administration... Because he called Putin names, and insulted Putin at rally's.
That has, what to do with this?

Spam, wonderful spam (bloody vikings!)
Democrats trying to impeach Trump so that he can never run again... Just like Putin ensured Navalny could never run again.

...It's the same thing.

They didn't put novichok in the Farting Trumpets pants.

I don't see how it's similar.

Trump has been pushing the narrative that if he loses, the election is rigged for the last 4 years and then ramped it up to "the election was definitely rigged against me," thus inciting a mob of his followers to storm and attempt to overtake the Capitol building filled with every member of Congress who then had to run for their lives. That was after he called various Governors and GOP leaders and attempted to threaten them into changing the vote counts in his favour.

Luckily, democracy won out. Barely.

This all happened. This is all documented. Nobody made it up just so they could oust Trump from power for the rest of his life. It comes as a direct result of his actual actions.

If inciting a mob to overturn a democratic election isn't grounds for impeachment, then what is?
