I think de Gaulle's quote is even more relevant today, checkout what macron said, "if there was a frexit referendum the. French people would vote to leave" and as I said before they won't allow it,just as they did for us for years.

We'll see about frexit,I guess they're pretty busy covering the failure with the vaccine supply and how useless macrons government has been.

You watch too much right wing new, Murdoch is not the mouthpiece of france. His American dream has just been taken so...

Yes we'll see, i live here and hear no talk of project fear.

France has just passed the 1 million vaccinations mark after a slow start. There is no shortage of the pfyzer vaccine despite rumours started by the same sort of people who throe frexit about as a big thing

Which is why i watch france24 and not sky, they have no political agenda and they fact check

It appears that Frexit is being promoted by right-wing populists in France.
Anyway, the French now have the advantage of being able to watch how Brexit works out in practice, and what it might involve for them.
My first trip to France was in 2002. I saw the French very sad and they told me: we will be missing our old frank. Our own currency. I was 15 back then..I could not understand. Then I did. The Euro was nothing but a fraud for France, Italy and many other countries.

Why has a common currency led to this imbalance in economic prosperity?
Did the first actually cause the second?

Because the euro was created according to the exigences of the German Economy.
Meaning: they created an artificial currency which was more worth than the dollar to favor financial operations. But at cost of the real marketplace, where devaluation and a little inflation is needed to prevent unemployment from rising, This is the Philipps' curve.

Yes it is being promoted by the right, right wing politics has made significant gains in recent years and it will continue unless there are major reforms.

The French Italian and Spanish will watch the UK,the more successful we are I'm the future the more likely others will follow, for Italy the very least needs to leave the euro imo, there is much to address for the EU if it is to survive.

BTW, why is thr UK talking of delaying the second jab, it couldn't possibility ne because they don't have the vaccines could it?

The NHS are currently vaccinating faster than the government can supply the vaccine, though we seem to be getting more vaccines than the EU.
The argument for delaying the second dose is that it means providing more people with basic protection from the first dose. The rationale is to minimise the number of hospitalizations and deaths. Though there is an ongoing debate about the effects of delaying the second dose, both in terms of individual protection and overall public health.
