Because that would mean that the resurrection and the ascension never happenedWhy would it?
For me, no. My faith is now, at this point, confirmed by experiences. (though it was at one point a leap of faith)If Jesus of Nazareth's bones were discovered during an archaeological dig and it was 100% certain those bones belonged to him would that destroy your faith?
It would mine
If those bones had, 'Jesus' cut into them and everybody knew they were his? If I had Jesus skeleton I could tell people exactly what they wanted to hear -- that he was resurrected in a new spiritual body and had sent his bones here to prove it and that I had the proof they'd be resurrected -- proof through me his personal representative. Proof of comfort and satisfaction is what people want. I'd be not just the new pope but the verified and ultimate modern pope, like Peter reborn. If Jesus of Nazareth's bones were discovered during an archaeological dig and it was 100% certain those bones belonged to him would that destroy your faith?

I do not believe physical bodies ever ascend to heaven.Because that would mean that the resurrection and the ascension never happened
And the whole of Christianity is based on that having happened
It would mean that his physical body did not ascend to Heaven to join God The Father
Don't worry, I have Jesus's bones locked up and secured, no one will ever find them.Because that would mean that the resurrection and the ascension never happened
And the whole of Christianity is based on that having happened
It would mean that his physical body did not ascend to Heaven to join God The Father

would that destroy your faith?
Not really, but then my depiction of Jesus is not exactly orthodox. If Jesus of Nazareth's bones were discovered during an archaeological dig and it was 100% certain those bones belonged to him would that destroy your faith?

How would we know? There’s no baseline DNA to use as a positive model. If Jesus of Nazareth's bones were discovered during an archaeological dig and it was 100% certain those bones belonged to him would that destroy your faith?
