Name of God is God

God isn't a name, though. It's a title. I wouldn't go to you and refer to you as human being. There are thousands of human beings. But if I want to address you personally, I'd use your name.

God versus god doesn't make a difference. The word god whether God Zues or God Jehovah isn't owned by christianity. Best to use god's personal name not a title that has been used way before christians "took it over."
You are correct God is not a name. But God's name has been translated at times as GOD in Lord GOD of host, Isaiah 3:15. As for Christians, Christian was a name given them who followed the New Covenant, Jereimiah 31:31, Acts 11:26. Now genuine Christians actually know God.

Who are the genuine Christians?

I would assume all Christians are genuine.

God was probably tired of "hey, you." It seems so much more respectful to call him by a name.

In some religions they don't call him God, they call him "G_d." They worry that taking God's name in vein would be an insult. They realize that they are talking about the supreme being with incredible powers (who might smite them if he sensed any disrespect). Archie Bunker (of a TV show) used to point to God with his hand over his pointing finger, so God wouldn't see him pointing. The joke is that God sees all, and covering one's finger doesn't hide anything. I could argue that calling the supreme one G_d also doesn't hide his name from God.

I argue that it is not the spelling of God, nor the choice of name for God that is important. Rather, it is the adherence to God's laws that makes one worthy.

The Christian faith came from the Jewish faith. The Muslim faith came from the Christian and Jewish faith. Many point out similarities to Norse religion which predates even the Jewish religion. The name "God," they claim, comes from the name "Odin." Perhaps, in a name, we find the origin of the religion, and can note how the religion has evolved over time. Perhaps the original religion was closer to the truth before mankind changed it?

We must not be so intimidated that we can't even pronounce the name of our God, nor seek the origins of our religion.

The genuine Christians are the ones God has given eternal life, see 1 John 5:9-13. 1 John 5:1.

There wouldn't be anyone who is a genuine christian since everyone is growing in faith rather than born perfect and indoctrinated into it. It's a great ideal for christians, but who exactly is a genuine christian-if there is such a thing?

Was Flying Spaghetti Monster called "God"? Who has called FSM by the word "God"?
It, Flying Spaghetti Monster, is an atheist spoof, because to be an atheist is one who does not believe the actual God is God. God being the Uncaused Reality. One translation of God's Hebrew name is "Self-Existent." And only an uncaused existence is self existent, being the uncaused reality. In the words of the Apostls Paul, "In Him we live and move and have our being." from Acts 17:28.

God is a Spirit, John 4;24. And He is Holy, Exodus 3:2-6, Leviticus 11:45.

I actually don't look up verses if the answer is clear cut. What you can do instead is list the verses below the comment. I have no reason to verify what you say is true.

I would say there isn't such thing as a holy spirit as it's own entity but rather holy being an adjective to describe god's spirit. Which makes me wonder, if god is spirit, how can he have a spirit to give? (Your opinion based on scripture?)

Well, they are those whom God has given eternal life. 1 John 5:9-13. John 10:26-30. So genuine Christians actually know God, Romans 8:16. Romans 8:9.

I do not really understand your view.
First, how we know anything comes before what we know.
Second, what we know is because of one's own experiences. Our language, what we were taught by others, our reasoning skills.
Reality our existence was here before ourselves.
Our known universe has an apparent beginning.
It having a cause.
There are basic two types of causes. An infinite series of of causes with no first cause. Or one unique cause.
The typical theist argument is the latter by an uncaused Cause.
In order for either there has to be an uncaused reality. The infinite causes with no first cause or the supposed uncaused cause. There has to be the uncaused reality.
Uncaused reality needs no kind of god.
It is an historical fact of the Hebrew religion. Their God has a Name which can be translated as "the Self Existent One." And uncause reality is the only thing which is really self existent. This is the God the Hebrews worshipped. Their God has no God being He is the only One.
He is omnipresent. Invisible to us, with Him being everywhere. He is the God of the Hebrews.
Now the Jewish temple was last distoryed in 70AD. 40 years after the crusifixion of according to Daniel the Hebrew writer which Jesus called the Christ called a prophet. It was by me believing in Jesus being God's Son to have taken upon Himself my sins. And believing God rasied Him from the dead that my sins would be forgiven. By me believing this I came to know God.
There is an experiment that you must do for yourself.
You must at the very least be willing to believe the good nows of forgivness by believing in God's Son. Becoming a Christian by believing in God's Son is what God does for you. But you have to be willing to believe it IF it is true. The evidence is the message found in the Bible, in the Christian New Testament. But you must understand the simple death for sin, claim of resurrection from the dead, the promise of complete forgiveness. God has to change your mind.
