Trump: "THE MOVEMENT is Only Just Beginning"

Did anyone pick up on Trump's use of this expression?

"The Movement" is the name of a far-right, transnational organisation, founded in 2018 by Steve Bannon - who Trump has just pardoned.

Details here: The Movement (populist group) - Wikipedia

Maybe I am jumping at shadows, but I seem to hear jackboots and to see black or brown shirts.......

Perhaps we should keep an eye on Donald Trump Junior (cf. the Le Pen dynasty).

Never heard of it, but looking at the Wiki article about them, it seems as if it will likely go nowhere.

Perot's Reform Party made a bigger splash.

You may be right.

Thinking about it, there is something inconsistent about a trans-national organisation.......for nationalists!:D

It's been brewing for some time now. A direct antithesis to OSF and all the infiltrations they do around the world. Some I agree, and others are horrid.

Yes, it does seem rather incongruous, especially considering the history of nationalism in Europe.

I was alarmed when he mused on starting a new party -- the "Patriot Party." If ever I heard anything that said, "beware, fascism ahead," that was it.
Just the word "Patriot" in the title will attract people like flies on s**t.
Don't fall for it! Look what we got with the "Patriot Act!"

Yes indeed. The Republican party will be aghast. It will potentially siphon off enough votes to deny them office. They will be on the spot if Trump is really serious.

It may force them back to more centrist politics, to write Trump off as crazy, or they may try to move halfway towards him, to grab a portion of the votes he attracts. The risk either way has to be splitting the right of centre vote. This is what the Republicans get for supping with the devil.

But it could well make a Senate impeachment trial go against Trump, as this will make both parties keen to stop him standing again. It's going to be fascinating to watch - from the relative safety of Europe that is.

Not if the Nation is the White Nation.
Yes, but I really don't think all the far right parties in Europe would go for such a narrowly racist common approach. I suppose they might coalesce around an anti-islam drive, though.

Indeed, yes! That could well prove a huge impetus towards convicting him. And McConnell's very pertinent remarks in the Senate yesterday may have spoken just as many volumes as he intended.
