Why do you follow the religion you belong to now?

It's satisfying mentally, emotionally and spiritually. From an intellectual perspective, all my questions are answered in a coherent way.

Were you born into the faith?

no

Why do you believe your religion is the truth?

There is no one true belief. People should follow the one that most satisfies them (or none at all).

There are many routes to "climb the mountain". Some are steep and direct. Some scenic and winding. All wind up in the same place.

So you believe all religions leads to God? I agree with you about that. I believe God does not care about your religion, he cares only about if we are kind, loving to each other

It seeks to adhere to what is clearly revealed in the Bible, and it seems evident to me, the Bible has the truth.

Were you born into the faith?
No. I became a part of that faith, after being convinced of the truth.

Did you convert?

Why do you believe your religion is the truth?
Besides what I mentioned above, it identifies as such. One example, is the fact that it follows exactly, the pattern of the first century followers of Christ - primarily sticking to the original purpose of the congregations -
1 Peter 2:9 ; Matthew 28:18-20 ; 2 Timothy 4:1, 2

Also, Its identifying mark of true love is the reason for its unity globally. John 15:35

There is other evidence as well, but keeping it concise.

What about...
Matthew 22:35-38 - . . .: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 He said to him: “‘You must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.’ 38 This is the greatest and first commandment.

John 15:14.-  . .You are my friends if you do what I am commanding you.

1 John 5:3 -  For this is what the love of God means, that we observe his commandments; . . .

How can we be accepted by God, if we are not doing his will?
Matthew 7:21-23 ; 1 Timothy 2:3, 4)

What were those experiences that caused it to make sense to you, if you don't mind my asking?
I experience a connexion with G-d (the G-d I worship) that I never felt with any other with which I attempted to connect. I'm not talking about a nice fuzzy feeling (although it can be, or any number of experiential feelings) or anything like that; it's almost like that feeling you have when you know beforehand that there's someone else in the room with you prior to your looking.

Reading the Scripture and finding it to make more sense to my view of the world or even being able to change my view, what I'd been taught, than any other scripture. All my questions about it had been sufficiently answered in a way I never found for other religions.

Prophecies fulfilled, prayers answered etc. all the usual religious stuff.

Why do you think that it makes more sense than the other religions you looked into, if you don't mind my asking?
Those other religions had one or another fatal flaws I simply couldn't move past, as well as my not being able to connect with their deity/ies.

Sorry, I would write more but I'm busy writing something else :)

Why do you follow the religion you belong to now?

It makes sense and aligns with my experiences of life so far.

Were you born into the faith?

No

Did you convert?

I choose to become a member of the Baha'i Faith. That appeared the logical next step after entertaining the possibility that Baha'u'llah was the Manifestation of God for this age.

Why do you believe your religion is the truth?

In my view all the main world religions have the truth to some extent. The Baha'i Faith makes more sense for this era in history than the other major religions I have considered including Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, indigenous religions and Hinduism. However I'm always mindful that what makes perfect sense to me makes no sense to another. We all have varying and unique experiences in life that may predispose us to following one religion or another.

so you believe people who are kind and good do not go to heaven just because they have believed in the wrong religion?

Interestingly, the Bible says they are only two roads. They lead to drastically different ends. The scenery is different, but one must be careful what grabs his attention, if they are to make it to the end. Matthew 7:13, 14

According to Jesus, God does not care about kindness elusive of righteousness, with obedience.
Even Saul was told, that to obey is better than sacrifice. 1 Samuel 15:22
If one does not love God, how can that count as holy?

Why do you follow the religion you belong to now?
I follow my Guru (as good as I can). My guru declared He did not start a new Religion, so it's more "I follow Guru not Religion, for me"

Were you born into the faith?
No, I was born into Christian Faith. Although, from young age, I felt the values I had, I later discovered, were those my Guru represents and lives by

Did you convert?
Does not apply to me. But I accepted my Guru as my Master

Why do you believe your religion is the truth?
I believe my Guru can guide me to the highest Truth. His name is Sathya, which means Truth, so that makes it easy.
I do not believe any Religion is the Truth (unless Love is your Religion maybe).
I do believe that all Religions can lead you to the Truth

Note: This does not imply that non Faith can't lead you to the Truth (which does not imply that it can)

but what about a person who is kind and at the same time believes in a monotheistic God but not the Christian god? Does that person go to heaven?

Okay thanks, that makes sense. :)
I'd be curious as to why you were able to connect with the G-d of Judaism and not the Gods of other religions if/when you have time and if/when you want to share that. One reason I ask is because I have trouble connecting to God. Logically speaking, I know it is not a problem with my religion, since other Baha'is do not have this problem, so I know it is a personal problem I have with God.
Those other religions had one or another fatal flaws I simply couldn't move past, as well as my not being able to connect with their deity/ies.

If/when you have time, maybe you can explain what those fatal flaws are. I am really curious.

I am busy now too, I have to call my attorney about an important matter regarding a tenant who owes me many thousands of dollars in unpaid rent.

Remember, you asked why RF users believe that their religion is the truth.
I can't say I believe what Jesus said, based on the Bible, and then say, forget what Jesus said. I think. I can believe whatever.. can I?
Then what would my answer mean?
I might as well say, I don't believe my religion has the truth.
However, you are not hoping for me to say that, are you?

Why do you follow the religion you belong to now?

It aligns with my worldview.

Were you born into the faith?

Not this time.

Did you convert?

No. There was nothing to convert. I've always had this view.

Why do you believe your religion is the truth?

Why do you assume I believe my religion is the truth? Do you think there is but one path to truth?

सत्यान्नास्ति परो धर्मः
satyān nāsti paro dharma
There is no law/duty/religion higher than truth.

I see no point in religion being an apparatus to impose on the collective.
