Vegan & Vegetarian Stuff

I sorely wish they had fish substitute that wasn't pre-breaded in my area. I went vegetarian 24 years ago, and while there was a peak in the variety of products available about 10 years ago, its dropped miserably. They don't make much for people who like to cook, just lazy folks who like to reheat. Everything is pre-done(like you can buy sweet and sour 'pork', but not 'pork' on its own).

The strings of profanity I've spewed at seeing beloved products canceled again and again through the years...

The best sausages I've had...
Richmond.

I've eaten far too many of these since I discovered them. My other half would have them with every meal. I think she has a problem.

Iceland's (UK chain-store) has a reall good range of veggie/vegan stuff. The No Bull Burger is the best veggie burger I've had both in terms of how close it is to meat and how tasty it is.

The Oumph range is really good. Especially the pulled Oumph which is a BBq pork substitute. Amazing in a wrap.

USA, in the state of Iowa.

I'm limited to 'chicken' , 'beef' chunks, and ground 'beef'. Sometimes you can find fishless tuna or a 'turkey' roast. It angers me, because at one time, there was also 'shrimp', 'pork', and 'steak' strips readily available.

There are whole companies dedicated to meat free seafood, but no one in my region carries it, and refuses to order it in.

Yes, we have a regular delivery. I'm in agreement with your other half about those sausages.

My favourite burgers are the Quorn Classic. Just saying it now makes me want one!

Starting in mid-February, I am returning back to a vegetarian diet-- I hope permanently this time.

I abhor fake meat because I don't like the taste of real meat. After 46 years, I certainly don't miss it. There are hundreds of things tastier than meat. Mangoes, apples, several kinds of rice, and spices spices, and spices. I understand it for people transitioning though. Something like nicotine gum while giving up cigarettes.

That's fair if you don't like the taste of meat. I liked it a lot and I still want to eat tasty things.

On the topic of spices, I just had a chickpea curry and it was ooooft! Yummety yum. Garlic, ginger and chilli is the real Holy Trinity for me.

Honestly, I don't remember what it tastes like.. I enjoy some of the imitation stuff, but I am unaware if it closely resembles the real stuff. I use it primarily in recipes where to omit, you can tell something is missing. Sometimes another vegetable can substitute, but sometimes that doesn't work(texture, maybe?)
