Going Out On A Limb Again

I think people learned their lesson from the first riot and have moved on. Folks in the US here have a short attention span, and we move onto the next thing very quickly.

To the extent that one can call a virtual program conducted in the midst of an unprecedented military lockdown "peaceful," one can certainly hope for a relatively peaceful January 20th simply because one can be a vile neofascist without being suicidal.

But what should we take from such an eventuality?

I'll continue to predict a peaceful (relatively) transition on Jan 20.
Noisy with scattered violence...but no coups.
Anyone else with a prognostication?

I predict, as usual, a big circus. FYI, the 20th is the start of the winter sales here in France, in case any of you is looking for something else to do that day.

The weather report predicts a 45% chance of rain on Wednesday, and a 55% chance on Thursday. But even with those odds, I wouldn't bet on it.

I predict the great money pump we call "America" will continue to benefit the wealthy at the expense of everyone else no matter what happens next week, or the week after, or the week after that. And we'll all still be too focused on the theater to notice.

Far be it from me to disagree with @Revoltingest but I suspect he's right. Still, I would not put it past a few to saw on his limb

I was in Paris with a girl-friend who
remarked,
" Soldes must be a big chain!"

I predict Canada will have an election this year. Trudeau is doing well in the polls, and the main opposition isn't. All about timing. Trudeau would like a majority, and I think his chances are high. In a recent survey, 40% of members of the conservatives (main opposition party) thought that Trump had the US election stolen from him. We're not nearly as polarised as the US. Trudeau's party (the Liberals) have 45% of the seats currently. Two other parties have roughly 6 percent each.

I prognosticate he will go out like a 3rd world dictator, not acknowledging his successor, and having a red carpet rolled out, with a military band send off, complete with a 21 gun salute to his self-imagined greatness to help artificially inflate his deflated ego, as he heads out into the waiting arms of law officers with arrest warrants.

Alright, I'm not being a prophet here. I'm just reading the news. :) (I just added the last part with a bit of wishful thinking).

Trump is planning an 'elaborate' send-off for himself before Biden's inauguration. He wants a red carpet, military band, and a 21-gun salute, reports say.

Obama for Vice President.

In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue.

There were four blood moons, and God was opening up a new continent.

It would become the "earth" who helped the "woman" after 1260 years of Pay Pal Persecution came to an end in 1798.

It would also become the same "earth" that the second beast, the Antichrist, appears to be rising from now.

I was hoping it could wait for 2024, but...

125 Air National Guard aircraft flew 134 sorties in the last three days

They airlifted into DC 2.3 million pounds of cargo from around the nation

The volume of aircraft, personnel, and equipment is unprecedented

They're even flying in 80 Guardsmen aboard a KC-135 Stratotanker into DC from...wait for it...ALASKA.

All for a guy who can't get out of his basement without "fracturing his foot".

SOMETHING. IS. GOING. DOWN.

Historic Air National Guard airlift brings troops to DC

WASHINGTON – Thousands of National Guard troops continued to stream into the nation's capital Saturday to support law enforcement during the presidential inauguration, building to a force of up to 25,000 members. Many of the Soldiers and Airmen are getting there via the Air National Guard in a historic airlift.

Some 125 Air National Guard aircraft flew 134 sorties into Washington Jan. 12-15, bringing more than 7,060 National Guard troops and 2.3 million pounds of cargo from around the nation. The flurry of flights into Joint Base Andrews in Maryland continued Saturday, handled by the 89th Airlift Wing.

“The type of mission that we are involved in right now just demonstrates the nature of the Air National Guard," said Lt. Gen. Mike Loh, director, Air National Guard. "We pride ourselves in being the first to the fight, whether it be responding to natural disasters, COVID-19, civil unrest, or providing support to our local, state, and federal partners for the inauguration.”

"The volume of aircraft, personnel, and equipment that is processing through Andrews is pretty much unprecedented," said Lt. Col. Devin T. Robinson, director, Air National Guard public affairs. "Our Guard Airmen are turning a massive number of aircraft in a very short period of time - it really is amazing!”

On Sunday, the Alaska Air National Guard's 168th Wing will fly about 80 Guardsmen aboard a KC-135 Stratotanker from Eielson Air Force Base on a seven-hour flight to Joint Base Andrews.

It's possible that we're fortunate that government messed
up so badly on Jan 6. Better to learn the lesson before
the big event.

Isn't the lesson that the President can orchestrate a coup? I mean I don't blame the Capital police for not expecting that we would have a traitor in the WH who would urge his cult members to storm the Capital.
