Hi, all!

When or if I have enough time, I'm planning to update/"relaunch" a thread I wrote a few years ago with newer information, some edits, and trivia about any members who have been here for a year or more who wish to share facts about themselves.

Here's the thread:

Summary of the History of RF

If you have any notable personal facts or trivia about yourself that you think may be interesting to others, feel free to submit them either in this thread or via PM to me. However, please note that the decision of which facts to include in the thread ultimately lies in the hands of the staff.

Thanks in advance!

Umm. I’m “double jointed.” Meaning I can overextend my joints due to the tendons being thinner than normal. I often use it to freak people out. But it does have some drawbacks. Like sometimes my joints will just hurt for no real reason and apparently they are a tiny bit weaker than “normal.”
Uhh fun fact?

I drive a Hyundai Ioniq electric car. I'm socialistic and environmentally friendly. The first time I ever voted was in 2000, when I voted for Ralph Nader of the Green Party.

@KenS could never figure out why he put an "S" on his name. A lover of the Christian faith, he combats the religiosity of the same and always tries to correct and give better understanding to the Christian viewpoint of scriptures. With a Masters Degree in Theology, he has served his church for 30 years. He loves RF and enjoys the difficult questions knowing that iron sharpens iron.

Rival is one meaning of my real name. I dislike my real name.

My fashion sense is gradually becoming 'Muslimah without a hijab'.

Why should I stick to one avatar when I'm free to change it anytime.

My favourite character in Tanakh is Yosef HaTzaddik.

I love having crushes, I love being in love; it lifts high my spirts and makes life look up.

I have a penchant for the dramatic.

Oh, I forgot....
A few years ago, a staff member alerted me to
the forum being for sale. I seriously investigated
buying it, but ultimately decided that it might be
more than I wanted to take on....learning the
business, & managing its various aspects.
BTW, I planned no changes to the forum itself,
& would've been an anonymous owner.

I like the husky avatar most.
Such penetrating noble intelligent eyes.

Acting on the recommendation of the only administrator besides himself, Rex (the founder) drafted me for a staff position within a few months of my registering. 'Drafted' is the correct word. My permission was not sought nor, apparently, did it matter. I logged on one morning to discover I was a mod now. I felt enough of a sense of duty that I hung around. Over the following years, any further ability to feel a "sense of duty' towards anything was searingly cauterized from my soul by my experiences as a Staff member.

I hitchhiked across Canada (not the whole thing, just 2000 miles) at age 17, on about $20, was the first president of a Hindu temple society, and stood alone for 15 minutes in one of India's most ancient temples. All are long stories.

I originally wanted "sunrise" but found it was used so chose "sunrise123". After some time I realized I could change my handle and chose "sun rise".

My handle is related to my belief that we are in the last stages of the end times prophesied by different religions very differently and which are misinterpreted by most people and that we're seeing the first faint rays of the dawn of the satyuga, New Humanity..., the Divine sunrise.

Hmmm... Though I'm an atheist and a naturalist, I've revisited many of my old pagan projects I was working on. I've started on an altar where I keep my journal and other things. Surprised my room mate hasn't commented on it much since it does look very witchy, and the entries are written in runes.

I'll probably dip my toes into druidry before too much longer.

Now that my living and job situation has become a lot more stable, and I actually have furniture (including a wonderful bed), I now have time to just relax.

My ears and septum have finally healed, so I can begin stretching both! I'm especially excited for the ears, but I'm taking it extra slow with those.

I could keep going but honestly my life just ain't that interesting. Also, I just worked out and I'm dead tired. :D

I know four languages: Hebrew, English, Hebrish and Babylonian Talmudic Judeo-Aramaic. :D
I also know a teeny bit of Yiddish and remember two songs from an elective Arabic class I took in 9th grade, one of them being a translation of the first stanza of this Purim song.

My favorite prophet in Tanach is Yirmiyahu (Jeremiah).

I once entered by accident a classified military intelligence (an oxymoron, by the way) facility. They had really cool-looking computers, I can tell you that. You may know now why "military intelligence" is an oxymoron.

My name literally means "mountain of God" but is used once in Tanach to refer to the hearth of the altar in the Temple.
