Just a quick message to ask how everyone is doing at the moment.
It is now 7:30pm on a Saturday and I'm siting by myself wearing a bathrobe over my pajamas and posting stuff online since we have a 6pm curfew in France and chatting with you guys is the most exciting thing I have going on tonight. Not complaining, just stating a fact.
I'm so glad for RF, honestly. Without you guys I would be a lot more alone and bored.
Let me know how you're all doing, and if you make me laugh I might smash the like button for you.
Enjoy you day/evening everyone :)

It's still morning here where I'm at, although noon is only 14 minutes away. I'm thinking about what to have for lunch, although I may go and take a nap instead.

At 7:30pm this evening(its 12:51pm here, and we've been out of bed perhaps 2 hours), I'll likely be exasperated, worn out, attempting to get one child to do one kind of schoolwork while the other climbs up the furniture. The sound of the house will be mixed between cats crashing into things, dogs barking under their breath at imagined threats, Blippi(toddler show), and the cries of "pull up your pants, already!" (They don't make pants for skinny kids properly.)

You sound so cozy!

It's only 10:50AM here in California, so I have a whole day ahead of me. Meal prepping, taking the dog to the dog park, and hopefully getting a haircut (fingers crossed). Would also like to go for a run.

Now to make you laugh, here is real footage of me attempting to do anything requiring physical coordination:

That video is brilliant :)
I'm planning on going for a run tomorrow morning. Can't be a couch potato all the time.

I am shocked - shocked - that you are not dressed for dinner at 8p.m., like every good bourgeois French person. ;)

I have tonight's roast pork loin in the oven (for dinner at 8pm) and as usual I am fretting slightly about whether the crackling will be properly crisp, without burning. I am also half way through completing my tax return.

It's about one in the afternoon in here , the temperature is in the low 30's farhrenheit, so pretty warm. There is a couple inches of snow on the ground, and the day is clear

I just took a nap since I work 3rd shift , but I'll probably be up for the rest of the day into the evening, and sleep again at night. I'm not sure what I'll do, I might a read a bit right now, or work on music .. or maybe write out some kind of forum post. I kind of feel like taking a walk once the sun sets , so I want to figure out what podcast to put on.

I think maybe I'll cook up some hashbrowns for breakfast in a few minutes

In the previous life, a.k.a. when we were allowed to go out, I would be very nicely dressed. Since March 2020 the dress code wend down a couple of notches. First it was smart casual, then it was casual, and now it's either pajamas or sweat pants. Since I'm not allowed anywhere, I might as well be comfortable.
One day I'll have to learn to walk on heels and apply makeup again :D

PS - Bon apetit!

I'm not far from you, well in France anyway so under the same curfew situation.

Just finished an hour long Skype with my parents in the UK who were both diagnosed with covid 2 days ago. I am concerned about their age but they both seem to have it mildly. My worst nightmare is that it turns nasty on them and i am unable to help.

The kids are doing their thing in their rooms (Xbox, chatting on the phone, reading) hubby and i are sitting on the couch in front of a roaring log fire watching Knight and Day again and indulging in the odd unprintable action during the boring bits and reading/posting of RF.

I'm relaxing after the morning's weekly run to the farmer's market and Trader Joes. This afternoon I hope to do something useful about the kitchen floor, the dust on many surfaces and other such items.

I did a very stupid thing about an hour ago. Boss told me the kitchen sink was plugged, so I said I had a solution, which is the compressed air 'one second plumber'. What I forgot was that double sinks are connected. So, me, the big hero who still tries to impress his own wife, goes over there, and gives the thing a blast. Stinky rotten coffee grounds and other unknown bits of gunk went spraying all over half the kitchen, some sticking to the ceiling, much on the cupboards, up under the space above the sink, on my shirt, in my hair. I go 'Uh-oh' and she knows something is up. She actually laughed when she came around the corner. We just spent the last hour cleaning it up. So yeah, something tells me your day is going better.

Have a pleasant evening.

Thank you for saying so, and I would like to add a similar sentiment. I really do enjoy being on RF, and doing so does help pass the time in the 'age of covid'. Y'all may be crazy, but you're my kind of crazy. :) And I thank you for it.

If so, please allow me to suggest an easy solution (after cleaning up that mess). Soak a washrag in water and press it tightly into the drain hole on one side of your double basin sink. Then, fill the other sink basin up several inches deep in water, and then using a toilet plunger, plunge the drain on that side (while holding the washrag tightly in the drain on the other side). Keep in mind that the way to use a plunger is not to push the water down the drain hole (as many people believe), it's to slowly depress the plunger to get the air out from under the 'bell', and then jerk the plunger upward to pull the water and gunk in the drain, up and out. Usually the drain will clear after just a couple of good pulls.

When it does begin to drain, again, run very hot water down it for a few minutes to help clean out the drain as much as possible.
