Are dogs more violent than cats?

Since the question of who is more violent is coming up this evening, I thought I'd cut to the chase and ask the question that's been on everyone's mind.

I have two dogs and ten cats. I'd say its the same as with people... it just depends on the animal. The Mastif/Lab mix NEVER gets violent. The Pyrenees/Newfoundland mix gets violent over food.

As far as the cats go, we have one classic bully, but we also have a mediator. A few of the others have personal problems with specific other cats, but they're not violent typically.

I don't know how you manage it, 10 cats and 2 big dogs and also kids! We only have 8 cats left and I am considering not getting any more, unless we lose another cat, but for the first time in years, they are all holding stable. Only one cat has kidney disease but it is in the first stage, we found out this week, so she could live a lot longer with proper treatments.

We have not had any cat fights lately, so I think the newbies are getting used to the established residents. But we still have the bully Princess who chases Busia whenever she can get away with it. The two boys who were at odds are starting to get used to each other, and as long as as long as Atticus does not get too close to Nova he does not growl.

I've never seen a bunch of cats (the collective name is too silly) rip a live fox apart with the enthusiasm hunting dogs do.

Ive never seen a dog play with its live prey like cats to.

Both have their moments
