Trump is shut out, while other hate preachers and killers continue on twitter without consequences!

On Friday, Twitter decided that Donald Trump will lose his account and be locked out for life. The president then had over 75 million followers.

Now many are reacting to what they believe is double standards from Twitter. Fox News has created an article that focuses on the types who are allowed to write freely on Twitter. They have only a small selection of what they call "some of the world's most hateful and dangerous voices," but it is illustrative enough.

The list includes Iran's top leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who operates completely freely on Twitter. He is an anti-Semitist and calls for the killing of Jews on twitter.

I think it is very strange that so many newspapers do not write about this.

Twitter bans Trump, but Iranian ayatollah, Louis Farrakhan, Chinese propagandists still active | Fox News

Do two wrongs make a right?
No but I think it's very strange of Twitter. Weren't they against hatred and violence?

And why are so many newspapers not writing about this? Weren't they against hatred and violence too?

I think it is part of a bigger plan locking out Trump

That's been an issue of Facebook etc., for awhile.
It's basically more moderated and enforced here, less so else where (especially if the language isn't English).

The linked article didn't show the claimed offending tweets.
What are they?

I think any person or group who pushes violence should be banned, but since Twitter is privately owned it's not my choice to make.

Thats why I try to point out hypocrisy as much as I can.

I don't see why they should ban the Ayatollah. He hasn't commited any crimes according to Iranian laws nor do I remember him posting anything that could considered as hate speach in the properr sense of the term. That stuff he reserves for Iranian state TV and newspaper. Feel free to correct me though.

It's a bit the same thing for Chinese propagandist. It's not against Chinese laws nor twitter terms of services to defend and praise the communist regime of China.

Louis Farrakhan is a bit weirder though. He is both under American law and the sort of deluded maniac to call for the death of Jews, white people and feminists on twitter (or a combination of all three).

I think if Twitter is going to set the precedent (which I agree with), it needs to do the same across the board.
What others are fomenting insurrection on the platforms though?
Speech off platform shouldn't be at issue.

Maybe I misunderstood, the OP indicated that there was a user...
He is an anti-Semitist and calls for the killing of Jews on twitter.

If that part is true, I think that the user should be moderated appropriately.

I often hear such claims, but haven't found it when looking for
verification. I note that the article doesn't offer any tweets.
And Fox's interpretation of them just might be colored by
they support for Trump, & his deep enmity for Iran.
