With 4100 Americans dead in one day, why did God think viruses were a good idea?

I have no answers to my own questions, obviously, but I thought maybe some of the more religious members could give me some insight into the presumed benefit that we inherit from this one part of God's creation...

2 Corinthians 12:9
New International Version

9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

And that seems like an answer to you, does it?

Can you tell us what it actually means, in the context of the question?

I thought my post was relevant to the question. :)

2 Corinthians 12:7-10
New International Version

7 or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Well, actually, there's not a bad argument to be made that Paul's "thorn in the flesh" was an attraction to members of his own gender. Episcopal Bishop John Shelby Spong makes that argument, among others.

Clearly this has nothing to do with a god that doses not exist. But what an irony that a virus in some ways brought down a president and unveiled the cause of why denying the science is allowed so many to die intentionally. Let me think what stopped the Martians from invading the Earth? I think it was a virus, what an ironic prediction of what was to come. A man who thought he could be king in some ways brought down by a virus, the simplest biological life. What an irony. Of course it does not hurt to be totally narcissistic and ignorant of what is important to the people.

For starters why many people abuse their body by overeating, junk food. Number one cause diabetes ... immune system down ... corona victim

Pointing at God is not the way to go here. 3 fingers point back at oneself. Sages gave clear diet instructions. Violate them okay, crying after is childish

While I agree we do a lot of harm to ourselves, this is not a good answer to my question. We don't create viruses, and for those who do believe in creation, I think they need to explain why God thought creating them was a pretty good idea.

For those who are not familiar this is a reference to War of the Worlds by H G Wells where the Martians (Trumpets) invasion was brought down by a virus.

Here's the problem with that. People eating McDonald's everyday has zero impact on me. These selfish idiots not taking covid seriously, they actually do effect others. Like people who dont have covid but need to go to the hospital but the hospital doesn't have room for them. Letting covid infect those taking it seriously. Letting covid run wild enough that it mutated.

Well if I were Noah I would have swatted at least one of those two mosquitos on the ark at some point during the voyage, but God has a plan, right? Blaming God for viruses or mosquitos only serves to distance us from God, which is the point I think Paul was trying to make.

IMO:

That is a convenient idea, to enforce this question on believers, just to criticize their faith
But such a question makes no sense. They need not explain anything why they believe

My answer did make sense.

When you drive through red traffic lights, you get a fine or you get killed
We don't blame the other driver going through green lights killing you

This shows that your question makes no sense
Tigers and sharks also eat humans if they are hungry and humans are available
Should we also explain why creating tigers and sharks was such a good idea of God

Be smart, live healthy and big chance you don't die of corona. God/Scriptures warns also that hygiene is important
Do remember how/wehere the virus originated; caused by humans in China (allegedly) not in Europe or US

That is your opinion. You are entitle to have and voice your opinion

Your Ad Hominem attack is not appreciated though "these selfish idiots"

So, I agree to disagree (which means that here the conversation ends)
(When you start name-calling, I am not interested to reply ... just to let you know)

Well, this one is obvious for your header. Don't vote to the right side of the political spectrum and learn to use science. :D

And I dont care about the feelings of people actively spreading disease and not giving a damn they do while their choices are having dire consequences for everybody else. Hurt your feelings? Oh well. Not taking this seriously is killing people, and not just those with covid. So, no, I give not one damn if that upset you.

Well, if I may....

The Bible clearly states that God’s will, isn’t being done on this planet at the moment. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have been instructed to “pray” for it. Matthew 6:9-10.

In Eden, when A & E chose to rebel (Genesis 3:1-6), they set in motion the issue of sovereignty that needed to be resolved.

At Isaiah 11, we’re given a preview of the Messiah’s rule w/ all the benefits....in vss. 6-8, we’re even told that animals will be at peace, w/ each other and w/ man.
Notice verse 9... all of this happens, because “the Earth will be filled with the knowledge of Jehovah as the waters cover the sea.”

See? It’s not happening now.

To settle the issue of right to rule to satisfaction, would take time, so for the most part Jehovah has stayed out of human affairs (except when it comes to protecting His people), letting the earth ‘take care of itself’ for the time being. Organisms & the systems / environments they inhabit have developed (evolved?) mostly w/o His supervision.

But soon, God will re-exert His control (Daniel 2:44; Revelation 11:18c), And safer conditions will prevail. His “will”, will be “done on Earth”!

Hope you stay well.
