Death from Air Pollution

Air pollution death ruling: What comes next?

"For the first time in the UK - and possibly the world - air pollution has been recognised as a cause of a person's death.
.......

Although this decision does not have any binding impact on other courts, it is still important as the first formal legal recognition of air pollution as contributing to the death of a particular individual.
.......
That will help other individuals who want to press for greater action on air pollution. That could be action from public bodies which make decisions about polluting activities such as traffic and roads, or the public and private bodies which themselves cause major air pollution."

It appears to be a somewhat landmark decision.
It will be interesting to see if it can be used to force councils to divert/mitigate roads in the future. It may force them to rethink electric cars - in particular their cost and infrastructure to support them.

We'll see - it is a Tory government

I agree it's a landmark and may have global effects. We just need a rich friend of the tories, maybe a jewellery designer, who wants to get into electric car manufacturing. Currently, the UK infrastructure support for electric vehicles is pathetic.

Maybe we should all go back to the pre industrial age and ride horses and buggys.

The human brain is poison. Pollution is a product of the poison brain. The seas are also polluted. And the dirt is full of poison chemicals. If you let loose the human brain poison, it's poison spreads. Typical.

Planet earth is doomed. Aliens do not travel near planet earth, they avoid the planet deliberately. I am sad for the animals. They are innocent, and if humans release nuclears like nuclear factories explode or nukes, oh boy. :(
I'd avoid us too, and so should the rest of the animal kingdom.

If we keep being slaves to our stupid poison brain, we are the worst. Who loves poison mushrooms??? No one. Why humans love their poison brain so much that they are a slave to it???

The plan is for a galactic bypass. Earth will have to be removed for it.

If you want.

This is not about recession but managing and improving what we have
You must mean regression I think. Its exactly whats being touted here though.

What alternatives exist right now that equal or surpasses the energy and power potential we presently get from fossil fuels that we already use?

Both will do but i did mean what i said

Nothing but it ain't healthy as the op indicates (something that seems to go right over some people's heads) and it won't last. In the mean time as much as possible needs to be done to find solutions and denying and/or mocking the problem is not going to help save lives or the planet

What do you recommend? Do nothing, change nothing, attempt nothing? Do you have any positive suggestions? Do you blithely accept our degradation of the land, sea and air?
