Stimulus Blockage

Bloomberg - Are you a robot?

Of course Mitch wants no part of a Bipartisan deal, who wants to help the country? What a silly idea.
Depending on if earmarks and riders were involved and once again, deceptively snuck in.

I would hope a stimulus will pass, but I just don't trust the left to ever have the common decency to ever submit a completely vanilla bill for approval.

I'm pretty sure something was going on with it for it to be obstructed givin the circumstances.

At this point who gives a **** if there are a couple earmarks. I hate them as much as anyone else, but take care of your damn citizens. It's been 6 MONTHS, since the last stimulus. The virus isn't political, let the politicians do what they do, but don't ****ing neglect your constituents, in favor of Corporate interests, or some sense of superiority due to the avoidance of Ear marking.

A whole lot of people are hurting, it's going to get a whole lot worse, and our leaders are playing politics. What could go wrong?

Issue a vanilla bill. Its that simple.

It just goes to show people where true priorities lay and its not with the common citizen if they cannot make one simple unaltered bill without the need to hack it to death with things other than what its intended for.

Yeah, people's true priorities lie right where you describe them; it's obviously more important to PLAY POLITICS then pass the Bill that actually has Bipartisan build (ear marks can't be that bad, right?). You're doing it here as well. No one gives a rats behind about what is or is not ear marked, accept the Politicians.

Since you are a politician by that logic, tell me, what's your Governing area of expertise? I've run crews in the Military larger than the full crew complement of some Warships (350+ people). This isn't meant as a pissing contest, I just want to make sure the person I'm talking to, knows what it's like to Govern a large Village.

Edit: For clarification, I want to also know what parts of the Bill were not "Vanilla" as you say, and what is actually contained in a "Vanilla/Skinny" Bill (That you'd support). How would you go about getting bipartisan support of your proposal? Since it's so simple.

Playing politics is putting in things like earmarks and riders. There's nothing partisan about a vanilla/stand alone bill. Either you pass it or not on its own merits.

I do not believe for a New York minute this Bill was forwarded as a stand alone for a stimulus measure. Obviously it was tinkered with because I see no other reason why the Republicans would have rejected it otherwise.

Second stimulus check: Here’s the new plan the House just unveiled

Of course, that ever predictable earmark, yet once again, was mickey moused in the second bill with a 226 billion education package by the Democrats who just can't keep their clammy hands off it without having the pathological need to sneak stuff in and wreaking the whole intention of the Bill itself by their antics.

Now the latest fandago ......

Politics is more important then helping the Citizens and Constituents. Gotcha. You've been very clear about this fact.

Glad to see your Values align with the politicians. :). Maybe that's your True calling, huh?

Edit: And since you appear to have no actual Governing experience our conversation is done here.

Republicans had no problem earmarking a bailout for air industries. Mitt Romney even said “It’s simply unacceptable for us not to respond to help in this circumstance. The only time to borrow money is in a crisis, and this is a crisis.”

But underfunded us educators struggling to balance new online curriculum and reopening safely? **** 'em.

Issue a vanilla bill. Its that simple.
Who cares? This absurd bickering is causing greater harm than need be. This righteous indignation displayed by Conservatives and Republicans is causing harm to Americans. And instead of agreeing on a comprehensive bill, all of a sudden ear marking is an issue. In the midst of a pandemic, this becomes an issue.
It's called priorities. And there are far greater priorities than the theatrics of suddenly caring about issues never cared about before and extremely likely to never be cared about again (sort of like how term limits where a big thing for Tea Party politicians but nothing came of it. It just worked to say it then). Ear marking is an issue, I agree. We have far greater things to adress at the moment.

Its not the Republicans no more than it is the Democrats. Just stop trying to continually put ones crap into everything that crosses ones desk. Pass whats agreed upon. Its that simple.

It's not just this. Reps and Cons have broke from their usual stances to make themselves look better. Concern for mental illness and that it's not just all in your head and not just those doing mass shootings, acknowledgement that one's socio-economic status has much beyond the control of the individual, and in regards to covid they are even extremely reluctant to do for their country and diarrhea spew excuses as to why they shouldn't have to (but don't you dare do anything other than stand quietly when the national anthem is playing).

Thats something you would have to address to them. I figure that's where history needs to fit in and to follow how things went with the Spanish flu to find a solution.

Keep in mind however that its impossible to control human nature. People are going to do things no matter what one says. Its just the reality of it.

They fined and jailed people who didn't failed to comply with a mask during the Spanish flu. They took it way more seriously.
Thsi time around, plenty of people in other countries complied. They are moving on. England and UK though, the stubborn ******** are really struggling with this one.

As I understand it, there are two items that McConnell refuses, and insists on; he refuses aid to the states and cities, without these many cities will have to layoff vital positions due to budget restraints. Unlike the Congress, states must balance a budget every year, they cannot, by law, carry a deficit. But he insists on immunity from any liability for corporations which do not provide safe work place.

It's not like they'd listen to you anyway.
I've called Trump 97 times already to offer my advice,
but I can't get past the ads for his hotels or book.

True, but with enough experience, and expertise one would hope they would listen, but alas even that seems to not be the case. Just ask Dr. Fauci
