'(CNN)Mexican authorities have announced the discovery of at least 113 bodies from a mass grave in Jalisco state.

Of the total, 30 bodies have been identified by relatives, said state attorney Gerardo Octavio Solís at a press conference Sunday. There were 28 men and two women identified, he said.

The mass grave is located in El Salto municipality, southeast of state capital Guadalajara, in central Mexico.'

it was Trump.
He is upset that Mexico is stealing the wall instead of paying for it.

Really murderous and lawless drug cartels are ruining life in Mexico.

The cartels worship Satan in the form of La Santa Muerte, or Holy Death. If I had time I’d write more.

Of course I don’t know, but am guessing it’s cartel related. They took over Mexico after getting run out of Columbia in the 80s. Easier access to United States.

Santa Muerte sounds more like the grim reaper than Satan

'Nuestra Señora de la Santa Muerte (Spanish: [ˈnwestra señora de la santa mweɾte]) (Spanish for Our Lady of the Holy Death), often shortened to Santa Muerte, is a idol, female deity or folk saint in Mexican neo-paganism and folk Catholicism. A personification of death, she is associated with healing, protection, and safe delivery to the afterlife by her devotees.[1]'

Santa Muerte - Wikipedia

I don't think you have demonstrated any more causal link between Santa Muerte and cartels than between Yahweh believers and cartels. There are probably plenty of both in cartels.

"Patron saint of drug cartels and smugglers." A huge section of criminals in Mexico worship Santa Muerte. And they do some extremely graphic disgusting things if I related to you might keep you up at night.

I've read about this previously. I'm not sure if it matters much what saint they worship. They're murderous drug gangs fighting over territory, money, and power. They are attracted to the enormous wealth the drug trade can bring in, and most of that wealth comes from buyers in the U.S., but they have to buy it underground because it's illegal, which increases the risk and the price. It's quite lucrative, but also dangerous.

I think this is a consequence of the War on Drugs, which has turned out to be a losing war. A new strategy has to be devised, since the current strategy just doesn't work. Even if they manage to catch a major kingpin or three, there's always others eager to jump in and take their place. They might even catch the perpetrators of this horrific mass murder in the article in the OP, but it probably won't change anything.

In the end, it doesn't really matter if they worship Santa Muerte or Santa Claus. There has to be a different approach to dealing with this situation. This has been going on for decades.

She is revered by many groups of people, especially those at the lower rungs of society such as prostitutes, LGBT people (especially poor trans women who are subject to much violence and abuse), drug dealers and others who find themselves outside of the protection of the law. She is viewed as a very gracious, non-judgemental maternal figure who protects her devotees from harm.

Personally, I think the Brazilians currently have the distinction of the most brutal, nastiest gang killings. Worse than the Mexicans. No one's life seems to mean anything or is worth anything in Brazil. They both put jihadists to shame, though.

According to this paper a huge section of the police forces involved in combat of the drug trade worship her as well.1

The paper also points out that the destruction of 40 Santa muerte shrines by the Mexican army in 2009 failed to extirpate drug related crimes.

1 Not Just a Narcosaint: Santa Muerte as Matron Saint of the Mexican Drug War

The worship of Santa Muerte is huge.

But those especially drawn to the worship are criminals. I have close family members on my wife's side that used to be in the drug trade and the mafia that worshipped her.

Someone above cited that it is the continuation of Aztec religion (which some think not confirmed) so therefore it cannot be directed toward Satan. The Aztec's were extremely brutal in their worship (they would take out the hearts of living victims on their alters among other things) including human sacrifice to their demon gods.

But that there is no mistake that their wicked and lawless actions, some of which are extremely vile and brutal is indeed ultimately Satan worship is seen in this scripture:

"No; but I say that what the nations sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God; and I do not want you to become sharers with the demons."-1 Corinthians 10:20.

There is pure worship of Jehovah and their is false worship. And Satan in the recipient of all false worship, whether people knowingly or unknowingly worship him.

All false religion is in the purview of Satan the Devil.

All religion aside that of pure worship of Jehovah God is given to Satan the Devil.

This cult is one of the more blatantly Satanic in its extreme form of grotesque evil done in its name.

Blah blah blah. Still has nothing to do with Satan. You're trying to find a correlation between two unrelated things, and it's extremely rude. "Demon gods"? To many, your god is the demon. How would you feel if someone kept misrepresenting your beliefs by saying you're worshipping something you're not worshipping? I just as easily say you worship the Devil and with just as much evidence. The only people who actually reverence Satan are Satanists (whatever Satan means to the indivudla Satanist). I'm a Satanist, among other things, and I'm not shy. But by slandering indigenous beliefs, you're just perpetuating cultural genocide.

I disagree.
She is simply putting them in one of her two boxes.
One is God and is good.
The other box is Satan, and it is bad.
So all bad things are Satan, period.
She is not looking for any correlation because she has already deemed it as bad and thus Satan.

She even flat out admits it in the post you replied to:

Oh, I know. They're stuck in a box of their own making. I'm just disgusted by Christians continuing to categorically slander indigenous beliefs and practices, especially when they don't understand them at all. It's like, you've destroyed much of the world's indigenous cultures. Haven't you done enough?
