Movies for Christmas

I know everyone doesn't celebrate Christmas, but for those that do or just feel like celebrating in it. I thought I would make a post of what people consider good movies for this time.

So it should be cozy, feel good movies, classics etc. that people might enjoy watching in front of a potential non existing fireplace, with snow outside :D

(If possible add a trailer as well)

As I grew up with it, and think it is one of the best children movies ever made, I have no choice but to go with the "The Neverending story". What a classic :D

For me, the season is incomplete without watching Elf and listening to Spike Jones Xmas Spectacular.

For me it will be the old cartoon How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Charlie Brown Christmas, Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer, and A Christmas Carol(1951).

i had a dream about the Never Ending Story once.

I'm not sure why this is in debates. Are you wanting to debate The Neverending Story being the best children's movie ever made?

I would debate that. I would debate Christmas movies or even Christmas in general.

I generally would follow the "Bah Humbug" line of argumentation, and I would also point out the grave threat to civil liberties by the entire Santa Organization which openly boasts that it "sees you when you're sleeping and knows when you're awake."

This is also the time of year when people send Christmas fruitcake, which is another evil practice associated with this time of year.

Anyway, for me, the season is incomplete without watching Elf and listening to Spike Jones Xmas Spectacular.

I think Dawn of the Dead or Beneath the Planet of the Apes would be excellent choices for Christmas viewing. Or maybe Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the original black & white "A Christmas Carol" or "Miracle on 34th Street"

This is an old black and white english short film <18 minutes which has become something of a cult in Germany (hence the German introduction, the film itself is in English) over the festive season. I know Germany people who don't speak English but can recite the dialogue word for word.

Enjoy

Who has time for movies between eating, drinking and having conversations with the family?

... and the video is not available in Germany.

I guess it's "Dinner For One" by your description, and it is not a Christmas movie but one for New Years Eve. Every channel will have it on at some time that day and I will view it like I do every Year.
