IMO Wisconsin will turn red with this lawsuit

I believe, because of the specific laws that are delineated in reference to Absentee Ballots, the Wisconsin final declaration will be that it will turn red.

Reasons - two main point and a small third:

1) Absentee Ballots must be requested in writing. Thousands were sent and received without a request given in writing with a verified photo ID of the person requesting this Absentee Ballot. These will be thrown out as per law.

There are approximately 77,000 ballots with no written application in two Democratic counties. - Enough to flip it red.

2) Reasons for Absentee Ballot requests are very specific, that being, indefinite confinement due to age, physical illness or infirmity.

In 2018 there were 56,000 qualified absentee requests due to indefinite confinement. In 2020 there were 215,000 - an increase of almost 400% - a sign that there would be many who would not qualify. This woul be enough to flip the state.

3) The last is simply that there should be a signature and address of a witness. Probably not an impact.

@KenS, if you were a voter in Wisconsin, would you want your vote to count? Or would you be happy to see your vote nullified? Assume that you cast your vote honestly and in good faith. How would you feel to have it thrown out?

The law was established by the people's representative. Moving goal posts that violate the law would make us a country of whims. Why not just say, "anyone can vote until December 31st so that all voters can be counted?" - So, regardless, the law is the law - it protects us from fraud

How about answering my question. You don’t have to, but it would be interesting.

If you voted in good faith submitting a hand written ballot in crayon, would you want your vote to count? Would you expect it to?

Are you saying we should count votes if prescribed guidelines aren't followed for submission?

Doubt it First the election was already certified and second the Rules for indefinite confinement only require a state address per state law.

Indefinitely confined people are not required to provide proof of identification or an ID card. There's no requirement that that be in the hands of the election commission or the municipal clerk prior to issuing a ballot. You don't even have a voter ID requirement on those people that registered. All you have is proof of residency that is required.

If your State government sent you a ballot, told you that it was a perfectly legal way to vote, and you followed those instructions properly, then I think you are justified in thinking your vote should count.

If some court decides after the election that the State government made a mistake, that is not the fault of the voter. Do you think honest voters should be disenfranchised under these conditions?

And let me ask you the question that @KenS has not yet answered. How would you feel about having your vote throw out under these conditions?

1. These people voted according to the rules that the State reported to them. They should have their votes counted.

2. If this procedure is illegal, then the officials that instituted it should be fined or otherwise punished.

3. The Trump administration deliberately attempting to disenfranchise thousands of voters is repugnant and un-American. This alone should disqualify him from the office of presidency.

4. Wisconsin has already certified its votes. This won't affect that.

5. Even in the extremely unlikely event WI goes red, the election was still won by Biden in a landslide.

I did answer. If I miss the deadline in my voting, I can't just say "My vote should be counted". Those who didn't follow the stipulation of the law should not have their votes counted. Otherwise fraud would be rampant. The voters are not disenfranchised, they simply didn't do due diligence.

If my vote was not counted because I didn't follow the law... I would be resigned to the fact that I didn't do it right and would make sure I was right the next time.

I am saying the law is the law. If I get a speeding ticket, of course I want them to change the law... but the law is the law. If on my test it says "use a #2 pencil" and I use a crayon... guess what, even if I wanted it to count... it doesn't.

The stipulation of the law will overrule what is certified.

1) - it wasn't reported to them
2) - the procedure is illegal ad whoever authored it should be fined
3) - no - they are following the law
4) - The violation of the law will have precedent over certification - it will be recertified
5) - No... Penn State and Ga will also flip (threads coming)

Given that Trump and Co has not presented evidence of fraud or a reason to disenfranchize thousands of voters who believed their votes were legal, this seems like a fantasy rather divorced from reality.

But, I guess we shall see how the Electoral College votes in two weeks and who is sworn in in January. Will you accept the results of the election at that point?

Did the state government make a mistake? Did they hide the fact that photo IDs were required for ballots?

If the law states that I had to present a photo ID with my absentee ballot, and I failed to meet this requirement, I would accept that my vote would be thrown out. I wouldn't be happy about it, but I'd accept it.

I wasn't disagreeing.

Once a president has assumed his responsibilities by law, he will be my president - whoever that may be.
