When does the United States say to Trump, "Stop this idiotic farce!"

I shouldn't have to add anything else, but hell, its November 30, and he's still making stupid, unfounded, unevidenced, repeatedly disproved, nonsensical and basically stupid claims about how he has been deprived of his divine right to rule.

Surely, at some point, a nation of any decency at all finally just says -- to a person -- JUST SHUT UP AND GO AWAY!

Does the United States no longer have even a small vestige of pride left?

I think you are missing the point of his tantrums. This blather on his part about the election is not about him staying in office (he knows he is not). It is all about his brand; he needs to keep his cultists stoked and willing to follow him wherever he goes next. My guess is that he will be dead within a decade anyway, considering his age, health, and lifestyle. So Trumpism will eventually fade away...

I don't know if I can explain this to you. I try to keep caring, but I just can't maintain all of the adrenaline needed to keep up with all of the shenanigans.

I am become fluff, the pillow of worlds.

Or you could turn off the news, you know. I'm not even paying attention to politics lately and my Google feed finally seems to have noticed.
We are lucky on this forum. There are very few of the rabid Trump supporters that claim Trump won here. I do spend some time on a site where there are still one or two diehards.

The guys on the radio continually blast away about it. The Republican governor of my state certified Biden as the winner, which means our paltry 11 electoral votes will be given to Biden. Of course, there are other Republicans who are incensed by it all, especially when they see other Republicans not going along with it. This is going to lead to a major rift in the party.

Trump may go the way of Ross Perot and form his own political party, just as Perot formed the Reform Party, although that kind of fizzled out.

Like it or not, the Constitution puts the election in early November and the end of the prior term on the following Jan. 20...the Reality-TV-show-star in Chief gets a public stage for 51 or so more days...I'd be glad if the media would simply stop reporting on everything he does, but unfortunately, what he does can still be important, and people need to know...

For some reason, I keep thinking of the scene with Robert De Niro in Casino after the gaming board denies his application for a gaming license. He goes on this long harangue against the whole gaming board and one of the Smothers Brothers in particular.

But then he goes and produces a TV variety show, complete with the Sam Rothstein Dancers. That's what Trump may end up doing.

It's possible to believe that the election was likely stolen and go about your life like a normal human being because you realize that there's things more important than politics or which puppet is in the White House. Many people hold various "conspiracy" beliefs and still behave like normal people.

It doesn't matter what anyone says to Trump, he doesn't listen. What needs to happen is for the media to stop covering his idiotic tweets and ignore him. That's what works with people like him.
And no, on the side of the isle which has remained mostly silent, there are not people who are willing to stand up for what is right. They like him and are like him. And there is a tiny fraction of less than half of our population who voted for him so they like what he is doing also. Thats a lot of people. It's really depressing.

But they are part of our country and have just as much right to want Trump policy and Trump attitude and Trump behavior so what can we do but try to calmly wait all the nonsense out. Once he is gone, his base will probably go back to not being involved with politics. It will be over soon.

Democrats, independents and sane conservatives have all said "give it up already".

Don't overgeneralize the media sensationalist focus on the foul spew of some rabblerousers.

Something that is a worthwhile read to put some things in perspective:

"Since the election, surveys have consistently found that about 70 percent to 80 percent of Republicans don’t buy the results.

...

Those numbers sound alarmingly high, and they imply that the overwhelming majority of people in one political party in America doubt the legitimacy of a presidential election. But the reality is more complicated, political scientists say. Research has shown that the answers that partisans (on the left as well as on the right) give to political questions often reflect not what they know as fact, but what they wish were true. Or what they think they should say.

...

“The evidence is strong that a number of people out there, even if they know the truth, will give a cheerleading answer,” said Seth Hill, a political scientist at the University of California, San Diego. Part of the president’s base appears eager to stick it to the establishment, he said. If those voters interpret surveys about the election’s legitimacy as part of that establishment, he said, “it’s quite possible they will use this as another vehicle to express that sentiment.”"

Thats not whay the OP is about. Its why do people not stop coddling this whiny child throwing a tantrum and instead tell him to shut up and own his defeat like a man. Thats what we whould all be doing, but a large chunk of the nation--including many Republican leaders--are playing along with this farce despite the fact the Toddler-in-Chief has no evidence to support his claims.

Yes, and there is a simple solution which is to get rid of electronic voting machines. I don't like them. If there was a block chain or I had some kind of encryption key that could be used to check my record I'd be fine with it, but no. I want a paper vote.

I think we need hemp ballots that are kept until it's all done and then recycled to be reused. Not only does it have that benefit, we also really do need paper ballots because they are inherently more secure than digital and come woth the explicit ability to stamd consistently counted and recounted with no funny business.

Won't work. The Republicans would accuse the Democrats of smoking the GOP ballots.

Judging by the number of Confederate flags you can see at Trump rallies, it seems that continuing to back racist losers long past the point of reason or decency is kind of a big thing among Trump supporters.
