If Trump decides to stage a coup via the faithless electors route, what is the likely future of the Electoral College? Choose two.

If Trump decides to stage a coup...

He has decided to try that route because all the lawsuits have failed. That's why he invited Michigan's leaders to the White House.

After the meeting, those same leaders stated they would follow the will of the voters.

Florida's Republican Governor, Ron DeSantis, has also lobbied several state legislators, including Georgia, to ignore the vote. Like Trump, he failed.

Your question is interesting but, IMHO, moot.

Can you clarify what this means? Getting so many Biden electors to switch teams and vote Trump that Trump wins?

Fat chance.

Yep. That is exactly what I mean. What would happen if he succeeds in doing that?

Even though it is not likely, imo, I do believe "all hell will break out..." if Trump and the congressional Pubs staged a coup. Thomas Friedman mentioned this a couple of weeks ago, saying "Civil War II" could be substantially worse than the Civil War because of the fact that we have roughly 300,000,000 guns in circulation here.

The fact that we even are discussing this says a lot about Trump and his base whereas this would even come up for discussion. David Gergen, a Republican who has worked for four presidents, calls Trump a "madman".

So, since so many in base still support this guy, it doesn't bode well for our future, and what comes to mind is this: "Those whom do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it", and I truly hope that those in Trump's base eventually come to their senses.

Actually, I could be happy with either outcome. If Trump wants to be the wooden shoe and toss himself into the gears of the Electoral college system in an act of self-sabotage, I could live with and embrace the collapse of the Electoral College.

Chaos. Half of those voting for Trump won't accept it.

Well yeah, the increased leverage of their voting power would disappear.
I don't quite follow your intended meaning, however while it may be legal on paper, sabotaging the electoral college is illegal in all other respects, and wordless is any ink that says otherwise.

I think a full-on civil war isn't going to happen, but Trump's camp certainly have enough unhinged, violent people that a number of attacks on the scale of the Oklahoma City bombing are a real possibility.

... and Trump's supporters today generally include the "militia movement" that was so instrumental in the first Oklahoma City bombing. If they were willing to blow up a federal building as a reprisal for Ruby Ridge and Waco, what would they be willing to blow up as a reprisal for having the presidency "stolen" from them?

Obviously, I spoke too soon. The Michigan GOP and the RNC are now calling for a delay in certification. It seems a night's stay at a Trump hotel was all they needed to change their minds.

I wonder what Der Donald supplied along with the hotel suites. Very expensive dinners and perhaps companionship for the overnight stay.

If Trump were to attempt a coup against the will of the American electorates, black lives matter and anti-fascists will crush this coup attempt.
