Its like evolutionistm, a term used only by those who fsvour supernaturalism.
They can thus have it mean what ever suits them
Ontological naturalism is the thesis that the physical world is causally closed: any cause of a physical event is also physical.
In a sense, this is more a definition of the term 'physical' than anything else.
Thanks. So it is philosophy?
Thanks.In a sense, yes.
The term 'cause' is a very problematic one. But, after that, the causal closure becomes the *definition* of the word 'physical'.
Thanks.
Well, as for causation it is in a sense cognitive. So IMHO you can't truly turn it into a non-cognitive process. You can assume it and learn what happens next.
Not sure why causation is cognitive. Do you mean descriptive?
First: do you accept 'natural' and 'supernatural' as meaningful categories?Okay, so what is it to you?

I, for one, have never quite understood what is supposed to be the distinction.
If I see a phenomenon, how do I determine whether it is 'natural' or 'supernatural'?
Well, I use this one for supernatural: of or relating to an order of existence beyond the visible observable universe.
It is not to be confused with Naturism
