Beyond this election :) - a letter for all the people who haven't liked my posts

Ultimately, it really doesn't matter to me who is next up to bat as the President of this beautiful United States.

For me, 38 years ago I voted for Jesus in my life. For me, He isn't up for reelection, He is still on the throne, He will have the ultimate say so, He will be with me through thick and thin, through peace and difficulty, He will never leave me nor forsake me.

This presidency is temporal, the next one will be too. My earth-life is temporal and the one to come eternal (assuming I am correct in my faith :) which I am, of course ). This world as we see it is temporal.

I am sure you believe the same in the faith that you have;.

So I love the humor in "how to eat a donkey". To all those who added humor to that thread you understand my perspective. After January 20th or so, we will wake up and the sun will be shining even if it is above the clouds, rain-storms and snowy-storms.

Let's not take this election so personal, there should be no "we have to heal the nation" because we should have never taken it so personal in the first place.

May the peace of God rule over your hearts, may forgiveness reign every moment of your life, may joy be your strength every day, and may love rule in every effort.

Have yourself a God-filled day,

Ken

Isn't that cute, thinking religion has a place in politics.
Oh... but it does. If I believe in "thou shalt not covet other people's money" - wouldn't it make you feel safer if I was in charge of taxes and establishing salaries for the already blessed Congressmen? :)

It's not taking things personally. For the past four years many of us have had to listen to Trump disparage us, strip us of rights, banned from the country, told racists groups are "good people," and plenty have had to hear Trump disparage their alleged "**** hole" countries. Troops who gave their lives for our country were called "losers," with this disrespect being extended to Congressional members who themselves are veterans. Plus a deadly pandemic that Trump spun and lied about from the beginning.
It's not like taking a joke the wrong way. Trump has been a great sower of discord and divisiveness, and after four years of lies and disparaging remarks, a year of disease and a summer of unrest the nation needs healed.

Sounds like you're trying to convince yourself more than us.

If you're privileged enough to not be part of the demographic harmed personally by the Trump administration, good for you. But it takes a lot of ignoring what's in front of your face to pretend it wasn't happening. So yes, I take it personally.

Hey, if you have a Sicilian wife like I do, you'd be in a world of hurt, let me tell ya.
I think my Venezuelan indian decent wife is from the tribe where they went to war while the men took care of the kids. :D

I think you are listening to the left-leaning news. A little bit of truth mixed in to a lot of lies to further their political cause.

Well, her and I probably have quite a bit in common since I am a Me'tis, with three of my four grandparents being part Amerindian. However, I was not brought up in any Amerindian tradition, so it's "just in the genes".

Matter of fact, I have several pairs of Levi's.

Actually my news is pretty well in the center.
And I'm not lying. These are people I've known, and myself as well. The nation itself and its international image and reputation Trump has harmed. This is the word's of military leaders. Add in a poorly handled pandemic and economic nosedive and yes, the nation needs healing. It's tearing itself apart. When can you last name a summer of such deep division?

That would depend on which country you are talking to.

And, please, enough with the Pandemic.

And, as far as which summer, 2016

Must be in your section of the US. Here in Florida, life has improved. Even those from Latin countries (my wife included) are leaning towards current policies as well as those with more melanin.

I think you've handled yourself well considering the number of debate opponents.

But anyway...

I think with all the fluff about Biden being better at this or that, he still hasn't been President. He may very well face a few of the same challenges as Trump. And I do have something to celebrate - it's, I'm not the one running the country.

For people who are religious, how could it not have a place in politics.
The separation of church & state notwithstanding, religion influences
their values & agendas.

Btw, I know they're wrong...only atheists have The Truth.
