Why I'm voting for Trump

I am 41, but this will be my first time voting not decided by hallucinations and delusions.

Climate change has always been the most important for me, but Trump just signed his executive order to plant 1.2 trillion trees, so I could ditch him now if I wanted.

Now I think racial equality is most important, but I think raising awareness peacefully and helping the whole economy, creating good opportunity is the way to go. There is systemic racism!

Since they are roughly equal, Donald Trump deserves my gratitude for all he's done including the trees.

Oh, and the most important thing (racial equality may equal it) is resisting secularism so the gospel of Jesus Christ may spread. Trump's got my back even if he doesn't care personally.

He can be rude, uncivil and dishonest, but that's going to be my vote. We can't miss the forest for the trees. Will vote as soon as I see a friend.

Online is pretty icky with tone of voice, but I'm curious since I don't keep up. Did he sign anything or do anything towards racial equality?

As for the jesus christ gospel, what would that do to those whose lives and spiritual well-being would be worse if they had christ?

What's the barrier between spreading jesus and not imposing on other people's well-being because of that desire?

If this is intended in a literal sense, then major congratulations! Making progress with mental health can be quite hard, so it always feels like an achievement. :)

I have no comment that I feel an urge to make about the rest of the OP.

Sorry if my post was off-putting.

He created opportunity zones for black people, some believe he helped everyone economically (black unemployment was at an all time low), and of course he offered to send in the national guard to block violent demonstrations. If you like Joe Biden for helping blacks with environment, education and health care and economy that's cool with me too!

Our goal as missionaries is ultimately to help people be happy. Since gospel principles are important, we believe, people we hope will be glad to hear it.

Trump is the most anti-environment president that we have had! He is reversing important environmental legislation to protect the environment and fully supports the oil industry over alternative energy. He states he does not believe in climate change. He has increased logging in environmental sensitive areas placing the environments at risk.
Now everyone thankfully has the right to vote who they want but to claim that Trump really cares about trees is an insult to all those fighting to preserve the environment to allow humanity to continue to exist. I have never seen a more hateful dictatorial president ever dividing a country.
So vote for him but at least do not use environment as a cover. Trump is anti-science and denies climate change.

Executive Order on Establishing the One Trillion Trees Interagency Council | The White House

This will effectively cancel the next 10 years of CO2 emissions.

No. I was just curious since I'm not too fond of missionaries both past and present day. Though the link you mentioned about the trees is informative. I don't know if I can decide political stance on environmental concerns as first concern. Though, not an unworthy cause in itself. Maybe the republicans can win so we won't keep tearing down these forests.

...Climate change has always been the most important for me, but Trump just signed his executive order to plant 1.2 trillion trees, so I could ditch him now if I wanted.

Did you even read that order?? He's not planting 1.2 trillion trees, he's establishing a council to talk about it and interact with a global effort. The 1.2 trillion is a global commitment, not just trees in the U.S.

Oh, and the most important thing (racial equality may equal it) is resisting secularism so the gospel of Jesus Christ may spread. Trump's got my back even if he doesn't care personally.

Good grief!! We fought a revolution in part to get out from under a government which could dictate what religion we belonged to. And enshrined that concept in our Constitution. Any church. Secularism is not only desirable when running the affairs of our government, IT'S THE LAW. But gradually, deliberately, stealthily that separation between church and state has been narrowed to almost nothing. And Trump doesn't have your back, dear. Inexplicably, you have his.

He can be rude, uncivil and dishonest, but that's going to be my vote. We can't miss the forest for the trees. Will vote as soon as I see a friend.

"He can be rude, uncivil and dishonest...."
My God, now there's a hearty recommendation. More bewildering testimony of a Christian absolving that "Christian."

I think Trump would be more receptive if alternative means were more presentable in terms of efficiency and effectiveness.

This is a wonderful idea if he really cared. Increasing the total number of trees (plants in general will help) including expansion of forests while preserving current forests is critical for our world at this time.
So what is the problem.
1. Everyone knows his policies about the environment are leading to the degradation of our environment and he needs something right before the election to say "I am for the environment"
2. He boasts about how clean the air is now (and it has improved of the last decade) but then is reversing the clean air acts to allow more pollutants.
3. Climate change has proved devastating to our forests but Trump denies again and again that there is evidence for climate change, supports increased use of fossil fuels and pulled out of the Paris climate accord while per person the US increases more CO2 than any country

So what about trees. Since the Executive Order 13855 of December 21, 2018 he has allowed increased roads and logging in our forests with too much monoculture planting.
So what good is it for the environment if we plant 1 trillion trees (and he loves to say those big numbers) but cut 1.5 trillion trees during the same time. His current status is a net loss of trees with no indication that he accepts climate change or cares for the environment.

There are alternative means that are more cost effective now and much more cost effective for the future already. Trumps actual record is negative for our environment.

There's still a need for consideration on how environmentally friendly these things really are in addition to performance and efficiency.

I hope I haven't been had.

LOL, the first time I read that I saw, "I hope I haven't been bad." Robocopji, the mere fact that you're willing to reassess your position in light of facts presented to you makes you smart, maybe even heroic. I encourage you to keep it up. Do the research, spread the truth, not half-truths and outright lies. You know, right?, I'm not talking about your gospel, which is a different subject altogether.

Yea, that seems to trump (no pun intended) all other considerations for a lot of Americans.

I hope I haven't been had.
Does it really matter if you've been had? You're still going to enjoy the fruits of White Christian supremacist policies.

They all have some issues but the current climate crisis is the critical matter and those alternatives do not add to the CO2 load. Many or their problems can be resolved with our advancing technology. What is currently clear is we must decrease the immediate threat of CO2 loading into the atmosphere as the first priority and Trump is working directly against this goal. He dismisses science (he is clearly anti-science that inconveniences him) and insults those that understand climate science.

Judging from the order and Trump's reputation, I think we'll see the 1.2 trillion trees and I believe it will cancel 10 years of CO2 emissions which is in line with scientific goals.

If I've been had, I hope it can be shown to me in the order.

I honestly hope and pray for racial equality.
