Yes, I believe it was common knowledge back then, for the followers of Jesus, that when we die, we are still alive as spirits. When Jesus was resurrected back into his physical body, the disciples thought they were seeing a spirit. But Jesus proved he was resurrected and was physical once again.

Never really understood why ghosts would be constraint to our form of interacting with the world :)

Meaning why would a ghost walk on water as if it needs some "solid" ground to not fall through? The same in ghost stories in general, they are always following the rules of the physical world, except that they can pass through walls and doors etc. But the ground, that is a completely different story. Just something I wonder about :)

Yes. But Jesus corrected them when he told them that it was he. Ghosts do not have flesh and blood. In fact, they don't have anything. They don't have a brain to think with; they don't have eyes to see; or ears to hear; or tongues to taste; or anything. They don't exist.

Interesting how the same superstitions have existed for thousands of years.
Interesting when you can actually see a manifestation. Makes one wonder when a superstition might just be a reality.
