Realizing that no mocking or blasphemy harms the believer in God

Spirit of Light

Be who ever you want
At the moment i am sitting down studying the teaching in the Qur'an and i read this .

176. And do not be saddened by those who rush into disbelief. They will not harm God in the least. God desires to give them no share in the Hereafter. A terrible torment awaits them.
177. Those who exchange blasphemy for faith will not harm God in the least. A painful torment awaits them.
178. Those who disbelieve should not assume that We respite them for their own good. We only respite them so that they may increase in sinfulness. A humiliating torment awaits them.
179. God will not leave the believers as you are, without distinguishing the wicked from the sincere. Nor will God inform you of the future, but God elects from among His messengers whom He wills. So believe in God and His messengers. If you believe and practice piety, you will have a splendid reward.

This 4 verses in the Qur'an made me realize that no mocking or blasphemy speech should even affect my own faith and beliefs in Allah. No evil words can harm Allah, so why shuld i even try to fight back?
No need to use energy on those who do not understand or who want nothing to do with religions.

Only focus on how to better one self as a faithful believer :)

What is your understanding of this 4 verses?

Well...if I have understood correctly...God will reward some and punish others in the afterlife .
So only God can practice justice.

Right?

I think Don Miguel Ruiz sums up this philosophy best in "The Four Agreements."

"Whatever happens around you, don’t take it personally… Nothing other people do is because of you. It is because of themselves. All people live in their own dream, in their own mind; they are in a completely different world from the one we live in. When we take something personally, we make the assumption that they know what is in our world, and we try to impose our world on their world.

Even when a situation seems so personal, even if others insult you directly, it has nothing to do with you. What they say, what they do, and the opinions they give are according to the agreements they have in their own minds…Taking things personally makes you easy prey for these predators, the black magicians. They can hook you easily with one little opinion and feed you whatever poison they want, and because you take it personally, you eat it up….

But if you do not take it personally, you are immune in the middle of hell. Immunity in the middle of hell is the gift of this agreement."

This is a great verse, kind of puts to rest that it is possible to see the term 'Seal of the Messengers' in a different light.

The passage says a lot to me, that there was more Messengers God can choose from, that God will send Messengers in the future, as God so wills. If there was to be no more Messengers, how was a Muslim to be distinguished between the wicked and the sincere.

That's the quandary we all now face Amanaki, did God indeed send another Messenger to make that judgement?

After all, it seems that disbelief harms your God so much that he punish the disbelievers.

This is a priestly made sentense in order to make people believe via fear.

Did you misread the verse or are you being deliberately obtuse?

Your question is very good @Tony Bristow-Stagg, as you know my belief is now that Muhammad was the last one for the Abrahamic religions. That is my understanding of the teachings, there had been many Messengers before.

I will be open enough to say, I personally do not know if there has been true messenger after Muhammad, but i am only a humble human being so i can not say for sure. I dont know at this moment. But the more i study the more i will know and understand

Your words do not harm God nor does it harm me as a muslim.

When you find that truth Amanaki, then it is also easier to see the spirit behind what is offered in this Biblical Passage.

Isaiah 45:7 'I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things".

By giving us the capacity to Love, we are put in a creation that has the ability to not show love. Those that choose not to show Love, can never overcome the light of Love as darkness is just lack of light, hate the lack of our Love.

Its a nice verse @Tony Bristow-Stagg
And i believe that as a muslim i can see any faithful person as my brother or sister no matter what religious belief they hold.
The theaching we follow may be some different, but we are all in it together to gain the wisdom from God.

I think that anyone who is calmed or reassured by the idea of "terrible, painful, humiliating torment" of people who disagree with them is someone with no empathy at all.

I do not want that upon anyone, but realize this, when a God tell us that by ignoring or mocking those who wish to follow Gods teaching. The ignorant person also hear the same "warning" of what may happen to them if they chose to ignore the truth.

So it is not the religious person nor it is Gods fault when a disbeliever one day face retrubution for his or her sins. That lay fully upon the one who refuse to listen to the truth when it is told to them.

Non believers blame God for their own missary, but they brought it upon them selvs.

I'm not sure where @9-10ths_Penguin got "reassured" or "calmed" but he does bring up a good point.

Is it the Islamic view that people ignorant of such warning verses in the Quran and blaspheme as a result will suffer the same consequence of someone that is aware of said warning?

What is the fate of those ignorant of this "truth?"

The Qur'an is correct in that God can never be harmed by His creatures. But God is our final end and eternal happiness. If we harden our hearts towards Him by sin (in this case blasphemy) we render ourselves more and more incapable of receiving His graces. If this hardness of heart persists until death we become incapable of standing in His presence. We are thereby banished from what we have forever spurned and this banishment is the punishment of Hell. To be cut off from God forever.

Every time a creature utters an insult against God he only further destroys his own capacity to enjoy the eternal love that God has promised him.

Forgive me for my interpretation.
176. And do not be saddened by those who rush into disbelief. They will not harm God in the least. God desires to give them no share in the Hereafter. A terrible torment awaits them.
So those who choose a leisurely path to disbelief might escape any wrath? And why would they want harm on something they either don't believe in or just have doubts over? And notice the threat.
177. Those who exchange blasphemy for faith will not harm God in the least. A painful torment awaits them.
More threats. Just great as advertising a peaceful religion.
178. Those who disbelieve should not assume that We respite them for their own good. We only respite them so that they may increase in sinfulness. A humiliating torment awaits them.
Ditto.

No bribes here then, or threats (as before). But not transparent to some perhaps.

As mentioned. Hardly surprising as to how we all seem to interpret things differently when one is either a supporter or not.
