Assuming God Loves, How do We Know God Loves?

Assuming a god both exists and loves, how do we know that god loves? I mean, I am justly convinced it would experience love because it would behold me, but are there any better reasons than that for supposing it would love?

Nothing my eye, Something for sure
Well, God gave us all a fighting chance at surviving the way we have to survive right?

Or God just plain took it all away from us to see how we would respond to the total absence of heaven.

God's eviction notice was to come up with everything all on your own and see how you like being all on your own. Appreciate the little stuff!

Instead of being a spoiled angel. Basking in the safety of God's virtues!

Tough love I would say!

Or does humanity just plain offend God. I don't know! There is a lot of nasty stuff out there amidst all the good.

Your call!!!

I do not believe we can know if God loves, except through what scriptures say. Of course Christianity depicts a loving God who created us out of love for us and the Baha'i Faith also teaches that...

3: O SON OF MAN! Veiled in My immemorial being and in the ancient eternity of My essence, I knew My love for thee; therefore I created thee, have engraved on thee Mine image and revealed to thee My beauty.

4: O SON OF MAN! I loved thy creation, hence I created thee. Wherefore, do thou love Me, that I may name thy name and fill thy soul with the spirit of life.
The Hidden Words of Baha'u'llah

I think that makes sense to believe God loves us because why else would God create us?
But I have never been 100% convinced that God is All-Loving, because of all the suffering I see in the world.

Reason? A reason is if I'm intellectually convinced by those who tell me so who I also believe have the experience of God whether they be called saints, pirs, sadgurus, tzaddikim or by any other name.

I'm thinking of people like St. Francis of Assisi, Baal Shem Tov, Rabia of Basra and Ramakrishna Paramhamsa just to name one person from four different traditions.

There's an experiential reason as well. To use a metaphor, say I am told there is something like a rose but can't see any such plant. If I smell something very sweet that is remarkable then I can become convinced there's a source of the sweetness.

God did not create that virus.

???

You cannot cherry pick what you think your god made, either he created the universe and all it contains or the whole house of cards falls over.

Or are you privy to inside information?

Creation expresses benevolence: generates and sustains a huge variety of 'beings'.

Because our personal love is derived from the underlying universal unconditional love within us.. To the extent that we truly love our neighbor, it is because of God's love within us that also loves our neighbor.. "We love because he first loved us first".1 John 4:19.

Dear Sunstone

I see and feel God’s love when I witness the change in a previously selfish soul, who awakens to a new way of thinking and living.

I have seen it many times but it never ceases to amaze me. Every one of these changes are indescribable in words.

God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son.

Can we blame a Chinese lab for Covid-19? I still see it as a judgment from God.

There's a Book that answers this question. It's answered mine very satisfactorily. Once I was taught what it really is saying....got all the misinformation out of the way.
