BTW, what do you mean by ate religious ? Do churches also offer foods like some other religions do ?

My bad, dyslexia strikes again. I hit the wrong key and did not see the error because the word i typed is a valid word so not highlighted as an error.

It should have been are.

As @Altfish mentioned, the architecture is great, and often unusual. Take this building for example.

Structures of such buildings represents levels that one attain during meditation, that's what I believe. :)

I believe it was built during the plague (poignant or what?) to guide the dead but there are no records so its just supposition.

Why went there ?

A few reasons for me.

The first was that I was dragged there as a kid.

The second was curiosity.

The third was to attend a religious function for a family member, friend, or co-worker.

There are many tourist sites that are also houses of worship, or used to be houses of worship. In some, the tourists will outnumber the devotees.

Near to us is Rocamadour, a religious site dating back to the pilgrimages. During the tourist season the tourists outweigh the devotees many hundreds to one.
