Trump : Anti-racist teaching is child abuse

The idea that those peddling Critical Race Theory are concerned with 'real history' is about as true as saying Trump is concerned with real history.

For both, history is a tool used to support a contemporary ideology, not to provide a balanced and nuanced version of the past that is as accurate as possible.

Both are poisonous and should be opposed.
A balanced and historically accurate rendition of history is poisonous?

It feels to me like he is trying to up the ante on division and outrage.

Trump calls for 'patriotic education,' says anti-racism teachings are 'child abuse'

“Speaking at what the White House describes as a "conference on American history," Trump said he plans to sign an executive order soon creating a "national commission to support patriotic education" called the 1776 commission and is directing funding to create a patriotic curriculum for schools.

"Our youth will be taught to love America with all of their heart and all of their souls," Trump said. The White House declined to say when Trump would sign the executive order.

Trump called the framing of history around race "toxic propaganda" and "a form of child abuse in the truest sense of those words" — specifically calling out critical race theory, a concept that was started around the idea that the law and legal institutions are inherently racist. He accused Democrats of pushing education that makes students "ashamed" of America’s history.”
I trust that all the right-wingers who I heard just a few years ago arguing that the federal government shouldn't be involved in education and that the federal Dept. of Education should be abolished will chime in any minute now to condemn what Trump is advocating.

Any minute now...

You really think it is balanced and historically accurate, rather than an attempt to fit the past to a modern ideological narrative?
