Admittedly or not, conscious or unconscious, the poetic state, a transcendent experience of life, is what the public is fundamentally seeking through love, crime, drugs, war, or insurrection.

To me it's true that people seek transcendence in every way until they've tried everything they can imagine and find that none of it worked. Then the path to permanent transcendence gradually opens.
