I admire atheists for devoting time for "God"

Fact 1: There are many forms of devotion. Devoting time is one of them. Devoting time is even one of the most important form of devotion which is even required for one's next devotion

Fact 2: Devoting time for a belief doesn't makes any difference, even if one is against that belief. That because, one NEVER go against something until that provides any kind of benefit.

Fact 3: Do you think there's any kind benefit that atheists get by going against the belief of theists ? I don't think you will be able to provide any.

Hence, taking the above (3) facts into consideration, I admire atheists for devoting time for "God"

Many atheist feel free as abrahamic beliefs, depending on the denomination, has strict ethics of behavior that comes from outside in. Many know answers come inside out they clash.

Many are because of terrible experience. It's a weird question as in what is the benefit of being against someone who has abused you?

Religion is no different if that situation befalls on them.

We are all in the same boat here, despite you presenting it as theists vs atheists.

A theist will devote time to their version of God (their belief), but rarely to any other. A Christian won't devote time to Allah, just as they won't devote time to the Christian God. Atheists doesn't believe in any version, but have to devote time to all of them, because that is the only logical thing to do, maybe not directly connected to atheism as much as it is scepticism.

We are all trying to prove the same thing as that is the only way to examine it. Meaning even for an atheist, proving that God exists is the only way to deal with it. Which might sound strange at first, but is fairly logic when you think about it.

How are you going to examine something, which doesn't exist? That is basically impossible. So for atheists one have to look for evidence for God, just as much as the theist have to.

The big difference is how we evaluate these evidence. And where theists see evidence for their God, atheists see none.

Why makes it so compulsory for atheists to devote time to all of them ? What's the benefit of doing so ? I don't think there's any logic without any benefit ? because, one NEVER go against something until that provides any kind of benefit.

You're operating under the false assumption that atheists and Agnostics are devoting time to a thing they don't believe exists. We don't. (At least I don't.)
We are devoting time to the poor believers who have been brainwashed into believing in their supremacy and entitlement - and thereby making life difficult for everyone else. Atheism, scepticism and especially secularism is a public service.
If you count carefully which religions and which positions in those religions are criticised, you'll find that it is mostly the antisocial religions and criminal aspects of those religions which are scrutinized. E.g. where are the debates about pagan religions? There aren't many because pagans usually can play nice with the other kids.
I'd prefer the believers would reign in the crazy ones (AiG etc) and the hateful (LBC) by themselves but they prefer to let us deal with them. Slackers.

What are you talking about?

I, as a full blown, right through atheism and out the other side type of atheist regularly devote time to good causes. That is not devoting time to god, its devoting time to people who need it.

Chinu: I join the theists in discussions because I have time. And as I have told you, it is fun for me. Atheist fun interacting with silly theists still living in dark ages, prophets, sons, messengers and all.

Friend, a true theist need NOT to criticize anybody. That because, a true theist is EVERY SECOND busy in devotion towards "God". No time left behind for such useless things like criticizing etc.

NO time left means NO time left, I hope you understand that.

Well perhaps we make up for those who seem to lack any time for reality. If you were a bit more honest, rather than trying to load all your topics against atheists, then you might see that it is not God/No God that tends to occupy us (speaking for myself) but religions and their affects, which unfortunately do tend to cause many problems and issues that might not be there were it not for their existence. Hence my interest - and it tends to be directed towards those I see as causing the most problems.

Perhaps you need to have a course in impartiality if you believe that benefits (to oneself or even others) is the sole reason why anything is ever examined. Of course this could explain why so many do have religious beliefs - because it benefits them. Not such a good argument for obtaining any truth though.

Same goes for atheism except no time left becomes no time FOR

And judging by the number of threads created with total misunderstanding of that, i hope that you can come to understand that

Of course, you might be devoting time for many other things too. Am NOT asking about that.
