Question about removal of sin in Islam

Spirit of Light

In the Quran it say that when a person convert to Islam all previoues sins will be removed. And we get a new start.

I can not say my sins has been removed or not yet, but i do notice how fully calm my mind has become, worries about money, food, lack of anger from within, less frustration about life or people who was bugging me before. Its all gone.
And all i did was convert, start to read the quran, following it in daily life, and pray.

Honestly if i knew Allah was this great i would have converted many years ago :eyes:

How do you see it in the subject about sins and removal of sins?

From the Christian perspective, our sins are forgiven when we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior. His death paid for our sins. Our baptism is "the request made to God for a good conscience".....that means that we feel God's forgiveness, no matter what we have done in the past as long as our repentance is heartfelt and genuine. There is no nagging conscience condemning us for past wrongdoing. For us, baptism is a new beginning...a fresh start.

Even if all my sins has been removed, i will do my best to not create any more sins :) i can not say Allah will keep removing my sins if i keep doing them.

But i have also noticed my thoughts have changed, not only toward my self but toward others too. I do not have the need to show others my way is the righ way or better way, all i can do is to better my self and let others better them self without me trying to change them.

Maybe focus less on your sins and more on your blessings. Turn your perspective around.

For example, I was listening to a audiobook about habits. Many people try to ingrain meditation habits into their lives. Then they give up when their mind has too much distracts. The author says that instead of looking at them as distractions (or you to sins) see them as lessons that will help you with your meditation. Use your distractions as a means to improve your meditation rather than assume it doesn't work.

Since there is no need to be forgiven for sins, live life as blessings and whatever problems you have with yourself and/or with others use them as lessons to see more of your blessings rather than shoot yourself in the toe as if you need someone outside of yourself to "save you."

The good thing is that i do not focus on the negative the way i used to do. I feel the positive effect and it is good. My OP is more about how fast changes happens when we do find that positive in our life :) and for me the changes happen more or less over night.

As you know, i had been posting a lot of negativity, and felt a lot of negativity the last year. But as soon my conversion was honestly done. It was like everything negative was gone.
And even the sore feelings i had when people was critizising me, its gone. Its a new feeling, a much better one

Similarly, there's a river in India known as "Ganga". Many Hindus do believe that all previous sins burn after taking bath in this river, and get a new start. And, like wise there's also a such bath-place in Sikhism. Even some other religions in India hold this notion, with a bit different procedure.

But, I dismiss ALL such notions.

Getting rid of sins is NOT that easy :)

If God remove it, it is done easy, when humans try to remove our sins it is hard because it create us to feel suffering, or?

God will NEVER remove any sin because doing this is very strictly against "Mother-Nature" / Divine-laws. One has to pay back them ALL, one day or another. There's NO escape. There's NO other solution paying them back. Its mandatory.

For example: "A" cheated "B". In this case, only "B" is authorized to forgive "A". NOT God.

But yes, there are exercises which makes one enough strong to bear sins easily. The only thing one can do is, just prepare own-self for bearing sins easily.

Written in Quran ? Do you please care to show me where.

But, please provide genuine verse with genuine translation.

This is just one verse, i look for some more
Allah says :

“Say to those who have disbelieved, if they cease (from disbelief), their past will be forgiven. But if they return (thereto), then the examples of those (punished) before them have already preceded (as a warning)”

[Quran 8:38]

Yeah, in the hospital from a disease because that water is extremely polluted. It's filthy and dangerous.
Friend, I understand your concern. Yes, I dismiss the notion of burning sins in rivers. But, still I don't think I have the right to dishonor somebodies belief.

How, important a certain belief is to someone I cannot know.

Hence, I respect one's LOVE towards his/her belief, no matter how much that belief is right or wrong for me.

Hurting "Love" = Sin (for me)

I care more about someone's health than coddling beliefs that could harm them. If someone I knew was planning to take a trip to bathe in that filthy water, I would do what I could to dissuade them. But it's ultimately their choice.

We have a saying in Hindi, "Naya mulla panch bar bang deta hai."
(A new cleric will call people for prayers five times a day).
Yeah, in the hospital from a disease because that water is extremely polluted. It's filthy and dangerous.
It is better now with some government policies. However, tens of millions bathe in Ganges every day and they have been doing this from times immemorial.

Where written convert to Islam ?

Still I think its difficult to understand the true meaning of this verse because even just one word can change the whole definition of that line.

As far as I know, originally the "Holy-Quran" was written in Arabic. Hence, the true meaning also depends on how that translator translated it.

Of course the translation has a lot to say. Personally i do not yet speak or read Arabic, but i am going to take an arabic course in the mosque.

This line from my prewioues post “Say to those who have disbelieved, if they cease (from disbelief), their past will be forgiven." Is the answer to our sins will be removed when converting to Islam.
And no the word conversion is not used in the english translation here.

If, this is so, that's your lovely heart, my friend. Yes LOVE has authorizations of all kinds. :)

I mean, that TRUE meaning is subject to how that Arabic to English translator translated it from Arabic -to- English.
Yes the true meaning is in the Arabic version of the quran.
It is always a chance that translati9ns get it wrong, or use words that does not hold the full meaning of the original teaching.

This is why all teaching of islam does happens in arabic, directly from the quran. So it is important to know the quran by heart, every word of it.
And of course for me as a new muslim, i have a long path in front of me to be able to k ow the teaching by heart in Arabic.
