Can christians be hurt by magic?

You would think not. But I'd be more surprised, actually, if a hard atheist could be hurt by magic. Hypothetically speaking of course.

If you believe in it. If you don't I doubt it.

I'd answer the same if someone asked me if I could be hurt by God.

What we believe has a way of affecting the reality we experienced. Some folks are helped by magic. Since I don't believe in magic, it'll neither help nor harm me.

What? Me worry?
Only if they volunteer to get in that box where you sawed in half and the magician doesn't know what hes's doing...

Nobody can be hurt by magic because it is fake.

If somebody sincerely believes they've been cursed, it can certainly be harmful to them. There doesn't need to be a supernatural agency involved for a curse to make somebody's life a misery. The human mind can do that just fine.

Hell, even if somebody doesn't believe in magic there's still a chance it could negatively affect them. Very few (if any) of us are entirely free from at least some level of superstitious thought. Given the right set of circumstances and coincidences, a curse may well start playing on the mind of an inveterate sceptic.

Except when it's someone else who believes in magic and as a result hurts people.

For example, there are people who believe that the Bible is magical. It's true, regardless of how irrational the teachings are. So, they do mean hurtful things to blacks or gays or whoever. Because of the magic in the Bible.

Yeah, plenty of people get hurt by magic.

I know some Christian witches who told me that they were cursed by a family member. They thought they felt some of the effects and they asked God to return the spell to sender. The one who cursed them originally died mysteriously and the effects the witches thought they felt disappeared. Whether this story is true I dont know
