People know what moving to a western nation means. You must prepare to have your beliefs and sensibilities challenged. I don't mind if folks want to live in their own religious ghettos or communes, but don't tell the natives what they should do (given this is talking about them wanting citizenship). They've let you live there and partake of their wealth and bounties. Be grateful, imo.

If they want to live in a society that adheres to their ways then they should just have stayed in their homeland. If you cant accept the ways of your host then avoid being a rotten guest altogether and just don't come in the first place. Don't partake of our social amd legal benefits and protections and then scream about how bad they are.

Blasphemy is a tool utilized by folks to control others, and to protect the imperfections in their ideologies. As long as people don't question things for fear that they will commit blasphemy, business can continue as usual. Turns out that this kind of domination is really effective, and it really stiffles growth.

'PARIS (AP) — French President Emmanuel Macron has criticized what he calls “Islamic separatism” in his country and those who seek French citizenship without accepting the “right to commit blasphemy.”'

I even heard him say the words "Freedom to Blaspheme". Powerful statement. I like that.
So, the saying is true … that what does not kill you, makes you stronger
In Holland we see the same, the terrorists achieved the opposite

Personally I'm not against the free flow of ideas, and I've met plenty of immigrants who were rich or otherwise able to contribute to our society, so i have nothing against people suggesting alternative ways to live to me. But they can make their suggestions without anticompetitive means of enforcement such as blasphemy laws, and we can and should keep out those migrants who believe in blasphemy laws.

I think we need more blasphemy.
Assuming with "blasphemy" you mean critical thinking without religious or ideological blinders, I'm with you.
And I think we should do more to explain why we have blasphemy and what it does. The right to blaspheme has brought us to where we are. It isn't just a doctrine that one can accept or reject. By rejecting the right to blaspheme, one also rejects the things it has enabled. Europe has the highest standards of peace, wealth, happiness, security, education and justice compared with the no-right-to-blaspheme world.
Wanting to live the European dolce vita and not having blaspheme rights is like wanting to eat your cake and have it.

No. And most people here seem to disagree with you.

Freedom of religion means freedom to practice your religion in your home, schools, and in public. Your right to religion however ALWAYS ends before you hurt or kill others for disagreeing with you. It also ends before you tell others how to worship.

If I want to pray the Ungorr the Untamed, Shingu the All-Consuming, or Ot-Yomuuush the Impotent, that's really up to me, isn't it? I can set up a freaking huge idol, filled with pig's blood, and skulls and stuff. You know what? As long as I haven't done anything illegal (like those being human skulls), you can either watch me do it or walk off.

These aren't "anticompetitive means of enforcement" these are protections of the rights of worshipers to worship without being dragooned for having a different faith. I have the right to worship, you have the right to worship. You do not have the right to declare that your worship involves stopping my worship.

Blasphemy doesn’t prohibit anyone from worshipping any deity they choose. It just means they have to “watch or walk away” when someone else blasphemes their chosen deity. You walk away and both sides get to keep their human rights. Free speech and freedom of religion.

Everyone here so far has agreed with him. People have a right to worship. They dint have a right to be free from offense, they don't Have a right to demand their hosts cater to their ways and religious sensibilities. We have the freedom to blaspheme, based on our right to free speech and freedom of religion. If they dont like that then they should go back home and keep their ways there instead of attempting to infect us with their dogma of repression. We don't need to nail their turbans to their heads, but blasphemy laws do not belong here and they don't infringe on the religious freedoms of others. They "can watch or walk off."

But it often does just that. Convert of die.
