Senator Rand Paul Attacked After Presidents Acceptance Speach

Oh, yer gonna get it for posting this.
I'll add fuel to the fire....
I noticed something interesting. If these protesters are indeed
BLM types, then their going after Paul is strange indeed.
Excerpted from the CNN article....
Paul, who has represented Kentucky in the Senate since 2011,
introduced a bill in June to ban no-knock warrants -- the type
of warrant that ultimately led to the wrongful shooting death of Taylor,
a 26-year-old Kentucky EMT who was shot at least eight times by
police after they broke down the door of her apartment in Louisville,
Kentucky, in an attempted drug raid in March.

From your first article:

"The video doesn't seem to show Paul or his wife being touched by any protesters. The couple also did not appear to be injured."

But please tell us more about how they were "attacked."

From The Hill ...

“I truly believe this with every fiber of my being — had they gotten at us, they would have gotten us to the ground, we might not have been killed, we might just have been injured by being kicked in the head or kicked in the stomach until we were senseless,” Paul elaborated.

Paul noted that he was the senator who introduced the “Justice for Breonna Taylor Act,” which would prohibit federal law enforcement from carrying out a warrant "until after the officer provides notice of his or her authority and purpose."

“The irony is lost on these idiots. They’re trying to kill the person who's actually trying to get rid of no-knock raids,” Paul said.

So, they "might not have been killed" by "these idiots" who were "trying to kill" them and who apparently did not touch them. Meanwhile ...

The senator also claimed that the protesters possibly came from out of state and were “paid to be anarchists.”

Dang. At the same time, thuggery should be prevented and protest defended.

My reaction is: welcome to real politics. Must be a shock for these senators to experience the anger of protestors for themselves. In countries with vibrant politics this sort of thing is not unheard of. I don't imagine they were in any danger of being killed, though they might have been "jostled".

Here’s a good video.

There was no attack. There were angry US citizen venting paecefully/verbally at the Mr. Paul entourage, without violence.
The “incident” is 4 minutes and 39 seconds into this particular video, The guard closest to the camera is yelling “Move back!! Move back!!” and eventually shoves a man, who in turn shoves the guard back. The guard stumbles into Rand Paul. The entourage continues to move, unmolested, on to the hotel.

Yes. I’m sure that it was very scary, but to say this was an attack was a vast exaggeration, bordering on a lie. There was no attack.

Thank you for getting the facts.

While I agree that Rand Paul has done some good for the oppressed middle class workers in his region, as one protester yelled 5 minutes and 45 to 55 seconds in, “You’re better than this! I know you Rand! You’re better than this!”
They were opposing and angry about Rand Paul having just endorsed the racist lunatic in the WH. That is a shame on Mr. Paul. :(

Yes that's interesting. A number of conservative US commentators have observed that the Republican party has been turned into a cult of Trump over the last 4 years and now does not seem to stand for anything at all apart from trying to re-elect him. I am sure there are quite a number of decent Republican politicians who are torn between loyalty to the party - which means supporting Trump - and the sort of politics they really want to see.

So, was it a "mob", an "angry mob", or merely a "crowd"?

Did they "attack" him, or did they merely "surround" him?

Were they "shouting threats", or simply exercising their freedom of speech in the free marketplace of ideas?

I guess we'll never know.

Rand Paul knows that some of the protestors were from out of town because they were too well dressed. I'm glad he's done so much careful research and knows that the people there are dirty and filthy.

What a wuss. Sounds like one of the cops was more attacked than he was.

Bingo! Privileged and shelter white boy doesn't know what it's like to be the object of hate. He doesn't know what opposition looks like. He saw anger and hate, he was the target of it, and he got scared 8n such a new environment. I have no doubt he did fear for his life. Just as I doubt he's ever actually seen an angry mob intent on violence.

No! No!

After a nose dive landing in a military plane, Rand and his family were running across the tarmac under fire from BLM snipers!

Everybody knows that.

People were laying into Brian Williams over faulty memory recall (a very normal and very regular part of being human), but this wanker who falsely recalls violence is supposed to get sympathy?
Waah amd boo-hoo, poor baby. He can grow a pair and admit his craven carcass doesn't know snakes from dildos about violemt mobs.

Strange. In this day and age of pathological sensitivity, speech is regarded as an attack with jail/fine in places.

Rand Paul gets 'attacked' and suddenly its just words and not an attack and the offenders are being dismissed as if they had done nothing wrong.

Crazy.
So, assuming that he was not, in fact, physically assaulted and beaten, what would you say has been done wrong to Paul?

I would say nothing at all. But when turnabout is fair play, some people get bent out of shape over words and cry for justice and legal recourse.

It can be mind-boggly hypocritical.

It just bring to mind all the PC bull**** people have when it comes to a point where words merges with legalism and the definition of assault comes out the other end.

Reverse the party affiliations, & the
left's outcry would be deafening.
