Why did I decided to vote for Biden/Harris

I'll let conservatives answer that question. There's a real reason why real conservatives hate Trump. You know, those people who care about morality and ethics and those who believe in American ideals. The reason they like Biden/Harris - morality and decency. Personal qualities matter.

And Beau of the Fifth Column as well. He speaks to those who want real change. I agree that Biden/Harris are center/right by international standards and totally status quo. He argues persuasively that defeating Trump is utterly critical and that those who want real change have to build it bottom up. A real liberal POTUS can't do anything without Congressional support.

I won't be changing my votes, but holy **** with either choice if they die they have someone worse backed up as VP. It really sucks, because Kamala's record as California's AG basically means I cant vote for either choice without their being someone who is totally at odds with something I consider important to me. LGBT rights are threatened by Trump, and like I had to assume Trump's choice of Pence did not bode well for queers, Biden's choice of Kamala doesn't bode well for prison reform or abolishing the death penalty. At this point, ots basically voting for who's likely to do less harm. Trump is an apex hater and bully, Pence is a well-rounded conservative bigot and makes god hate what he hates. Biden is really a benign joke, Kamala I trust just as much as I do the police.

One of Trump's mouthpieces praised Kamala Harris while trying to diss her:

“Kamala sounds like Marge Simpson,” Ellis tweeted.

Twitter commentators and “Simpsons” fans were quick to note that the fierce matriarch was the character who got things done on the show. A reliable, competent and moralistic fixture of the family, Marge Simpson was the one who was always there to clean up the mess (often left by lazy men) and act as a grounding voice amid chaos.

Reading some of the press on Biden/Harris, I realized another reason I'm ok with them.

Biden picked someone who attacked him strongly on the debate stage. He is the anti-Trump on the personal level. He looked beyond the attack to pick someone he wanted. Trump would NEVER do that.

Biden will pick honorable people for the administration not ignorant grifters Trump has picked.

Biden will care if laws are violated compared to Trump who laughs at the thought that laws apply to him or his cronies.

I’m at a loss. Can you site references to Ms. Harris’ background on the issues you’re raising?

Kamala Harris on Crime

Where Kamala Harris stands on the biggest 2020 issues

Kamala Harris on Civil Rights

From a Politico article during her presidential bid....

Critics on the left said she didn’t do enough to empty California’s packed prisons, and they took issue with the way Harris touted her prosecution and conviction rates. Harris has argued she was successful in going after international gangs that trafficked in guns, drugs and humans — while promoting progressive policies like jobs and education programs for low-level offenders, rather than harsh prison sentences.

Harris in recent years cast herself as a chief proponent for overhauling a criminal justice system that has exacted a disproportionate toll on communities of color. During her presidential campaign, Harris pledged to eliminate private prisons and mandatory minimum sentences as part of a broad proposal to end mass incarceration, taking specific aim at policies that overwhelmingly target Black and brown Americans.”

.....

“Harris has long enjoyed the support of the Democratic base’s most activist women, labor and LGBTQ advocates for her stalwart backing of some signature issues. Those have included abortion rights, enforcement of California’s landmark climate change initiatives, a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, and the protection of marriage equality and LGBTQ rights.”

Another lesser-of-2-evils choice?
Beware.....if you vote for Biden & Harris, some posters
here would say this means that you "support" them.
And you approve of their record & all they will do.
They're fools, but their tongues will cluck nonetheless.

First, the prisons in California are in dangerous locations prone to a serious and potentially deadly fungal infection called Valley Fever. Being in remote and dusty locations in the Central Valley puts people in those prisons at risk. This didnt change under her.

She also appealed a ruling of a judge who found the death penalty unconstitutional.

Was that her responsibility? Kamala wasn't mentioned in your article.
She also appealed a ruling of a judge who found the death penalty unconstitutional.
Kamala is opposed to the death penalty.
Kamala Harris' dual roles, 'mixed record' with the death penalty
Liberal voters might have a problem with Kamala Harris' history on the death penalty

Who did you vote for in 2016?
Thats actually none of your business or concern.
I'm pretty sure there's more to the story. Look further into it.
Actions speak louder than words. Like when Trump said the words he'd protect transgender rights, but acted in the totally opposite manner by selecting Pence as VP (and thus creating a wave of naive Trumpeters who thought he was actually still going to protect transgender rights). Kamala can speak all she wants. Her record speaks what she can't and apparently isn't.
Was that her responsibility? Look further into it. What was Kamala's response?
She's basically been an equal part of the problem in that regard, doing nothing as lawsuits against the state over inmates contracting Valley Fever accumulated and piled up (and are still doing so, meaning California prisons now have regular prison diseases, Valley Fever, and now Covid on top of all that, with some of that being fueled by overcrowding. Thats unusual and cruel if I've ever seen it)

I disagree. You can make another mistake like in 2016. It sounds like you support the status quo and extreme "pro-death penalty" crowd. Up to you.

She's bad for trans people, too:

As bad as republicans? I think your source is hot air
Kamala Harris rises as LGBT favorite for 2020 — there's just one thing
Upon beginning her term as a U.S. senator this year, Harris continued to advocate for LGBT rights. A co-sponsor of the Equality Act, Harris also demanded answers from the Trump administration on the decision to omit questions in the U.S. Census allowing responders to identify their sexual orientation or gender identity. The Trump administration never provided a direct response.

Harris has signed friend-of-the-court briefs arguing transgender people should be allowed to use the public restroom consistent with their gender identity. As California attorney general, she filed briefs in favor of Obama administration guidance supporting transgender students and against North Carolina’s notoriously anti-LGBT House Bill 2. As a U.S. senator, she signed a brief before the U.S. Supreme Court in favor of transgender student Gavin Grimm’s case.

Rick Zbur, executive director of Equality California, said Harris’ record on LGBT rights in her capacities as attorney general and a U.S. senator are nothing short of “impeccable.”

“We’ve known her since she was the DA in San Francisco, and then of course, when she as attorney general was more engaged than any attorney general has been with us in the LGBTQ community,” Zbur said. “[She] really engaged with us and has a really strong commitment and understanding of our issues.”

On transgender issues in particular, Zbur noted Harris as attorney general appointed last year a transgender woman of color, Mariana Marroquin, to the California Racial & Identity Profiling Advisory Board.

Harris will likely tout her record on LGBT rights during her remarks at the 21st annual

How in the bluest of blue hells did you get me supporting the death penalty out of me complaining about an AG who appealed a ruling that found the death penalty unconstitutional?
And what is this mistake and whos is it?
