Why do you support Trump?

I’m not normally part of this forum directory, but I figured this was the place to come for this information. I am not looking for a debate, just information and viewpoints.

So, why do you support Trump? What steps that he has taken do you find to be of benefit to the United States, to democracy, and/or to the World?

Any misgivings?

Why is that a problem?
What harm has secularism done?
It's taking away the ability to freely exercise religion in the public square. For instance, at many colleges it is very difficult to do your religion openly. Some people say, why don't you just do your religion by yourself? But that doesn't work because some religions need you to do things publicly.

Good question... basically everything. He almost always stands up for what's right in my opinion.

Let me put the question to you... what policies do you feel are bad?
Actually I am curious, too. This is a question I ask in good faith: what are 1 or 2 policies that he has enacted that you feel define his presidency so far?

He wants to plant 1.2 trillion trees and go to Mars. He's handled other countries well. He got a low unemployment rate. It's hard to say that the stock market rise wasn't partly due to him. He's decriminalized homosexuality I think. Anyway, he used to be a Democrat and I feel that he just doesn't take it too far.

I don't see why my answer was funny, even though it may not be as good as other posts of mine.

Good questions.

First, his biggest detraction during these four years what he says which doesn't always come out right, So I keep praying, "Lord give him wisdom when he speaks" :)

Why did I support and still do?

  1. Mainly because the option is further left than what I want this country to go to.
  2. 200 Constitutionalist judges appointed. (Long term impact)
  3. Internationally, mainly he draws a line and keeps it. Nafta change, China misbalance being corrected,
  4. His efforts to give religious people equal footing again.
  5. Putting Dr Ben Carson in charge of HUD.
  6. Bringing manufacturing back up whereas Obama said "Is he going to wave a wand? Welcome to what reality is" (Paraphrased.)
  7. Better border control

When I was in college (not very long ago), there were often religious people shouting out bible verses in public and yelling with megaphones. They were typically ignored, but always welcome by the university staff. I don't think anyone is infringing on freedom of religion at most universities.

I've turned over a leaf about secularism.

I don't see it denying people the free exercise of religion.

Some do, like many Leftists, communists & socialists. But the main problem of secularism is the void it produces within. Without a sense, or interest or conviction of a god, or source of goodness outside the ordinary mind, over time people become indifferent or hostile to virtue & a selfless motivation. In short, human nature is truncated to sensory information - with no belief in soul or spirit within us.

I am coming to make up my mind about all of this.

I can talk as an European.:)
Many Europeans do not care about American politics that much because it is too divisive.
There is too much antagonism between the two factions. And this is light years away from European countries where many parties are present.
It is heartbreaking to see the US so divided. And I would like the American people to be more united.
Because European Nations have a population who is really united. Despite political differences.

For example, sometimes I consider my Prime Minister a pro-EU leftist who belongs to élitarian groups.
But I always respect him as my Prime Minister of my Nation.
And this sort of respect lacks in the US.

To conclude, we the European rightists support people like Trump because he cares about Europe.
About Europe's roots, identity.

I love Americans and I wish them the best. I also empathize with them in this difficult time.
I am also for universal healthcare, more welfare in the US.
If there was a Democrat president who loves Europe as Trump does, I would support him with all my heart.

But we Europeans need support and empathy too from Americans, since we are alone...surrounded by dangers and countries at war with one another.

I hope this clarifies. If you have more questions, just ask away.:)
