For me, spirit means alcohol, liquor. Do not know any other kind of spirit. Would you like to convince me? Open up your scriptures.

Dogs, cats, cockroaches too are made of the same material that constitutes us. And each body, whether of a dog, cat, cockroach or human, is dynamically exchanging these atoms and molecules with the environment.

Yes in my Advaita (Hindu)/Theosophy religions the spirit is eternal.

My own religion
I don't know. To believe that we live after death is as unknown as if we die. Personally I accept both as possible and leave it at that.

Epicureanism believes that the soul is material and dies with the body. But that's not really a religion in the usual sense of the word...

What is "the spirit?"

I am an eternal being having a human experience.
