Do Muslims believe they will meet God?

"Those who disbelieve in the revelations of Allah and in Meeting with Him, such have no hope of My mercy. For such there is a painful doom" Quran 29:23

1. When and Where do you believe you will meet God?
2. Do you believe God is visible and you can see Him? How will you be able to see Him?

Maybe that is figurative. What does 'Meeting' mean in this original language and context?

1. No God, no meeting.
(I do not know how he will handle the rush on the day of reckoning with billions upon billions of dead. Surely, he is not likely to shake hands with everyone, even the believers. The angels will herd people like goats and sheep, sending groups to heaven or hell).
2. It is possible that the believers may get a glimpse of God, the prophets by his side, but a binocular will be helpful. I suppose the dead should be provided one before they are interred).

It will be a day, worse than the Kumbha festival in India, the billions of believers singing praises of the Lord and dancing, and more billions wailing for being sent to eternal hell.

you mean from a loose quote from a while ago:

The Manifestation of God (Persian: مظهر ظهور‎ maẓhar ẓohūr) is a concept in the Baháʼí Faith that refers to what are commonly called prophets. The Manifestations of God are appearances of the Divine Spirit or Holy Spirit in a series of personages, and as such, they perfectly reflect the attributes of the divine into the human world for the progress and advancement of human morals and civilization through the agency of that same Spirit.

The problem is, when someone translates this as "Face Him" they ask "So he has a direction?". When you say "Meet with him" they ask "so will you be able to see him?

Lets say I tell you "one day I have to face the truth" does that mean "truth is a real thing, person or has a direction"? If I say "One day I will meet my fate" does that mean fate is a person and I can physically see him/her?

Same word "Likaa" or "Lakaya" is used in this sentence as well.

69:20 "I knew that I was going to meet my account."

Same word Lakaya. Mulaakin Hisaabiyah. This doesn't mean I will be meeting a person called "ACCOUNT", but it means "I will be held accountable".

Peace.

Doesn't that mean "A resurfacing of a manifestation"? Mazahir Zuhoor.

From a Bahai Perspective meeting with God, means meeting with the Manifestation of God.

Ah. So that was the whole objective of the post.

I understand.

I am doing a cut and paste of my response to this post FYI.

If meeting God does not mean seeing Him, what does it exactly mean?
Let me ask this question, a little different then.
What will happen practically on the Day, that you can meet God?
So, what is your reply to OP?
When, where, and how will you meet God?

And what would you say about this verse:

“What can such expect but that God should come down to them overshadowed with clouds?" Quran 2:210

Do you take this verse literally, or figuratively?
If you look at the Torah, many times God appeared in the clouds and spoke with Moses, so, this verse of the Quran is talking about same method of meeting God in the clouds!

Well, it means you have to face God.

29:23 Those who rejected God's signs and in meeting Him, they have forsaken My mercy, and they will have a painful retribution.

This is not talking about a day you are meeting God. This is saying that you reject Gods signs, and you reject meeting him which means you should remember that you have to face God eventually. You are held accountable for your deeds.

You still are misunderstanding this verse.

You still didnt reply though. You just keep changing word for word. It says, meeting. If it wanted to say facing it would have! And you ignored the other verse I quoted.
When, where and how will you face God? And why if someone does not believe he will face God, he will be depriving from mercy of God?

Yeah. It is not talking about a physical meeting. So to explain, one has to change the word.

I think you intend not to understand so ciao.

So, Allah wasn't able to say, we will face Him. Instead He said, we will meet Him, and left it for us to get it!?

"And the earth will shine with the light of its Lord, ....." 39:69

And this verse tells us, some people will not see Light of God on that Day

"Verily, from (the Light of) their Lord, that Day, will they be veiled."

If it is about just facing God for our deeds, why this verse is saying, the earth shall shine with light of Lord? What does light signify here? Moreover, Allah is always present, so, why on that Day, earth shall shine?

If these verses are about facing God for our deeds, then everyone will face it in that sense, why then Quran says, only Righteous can hope to meet God?

“Let him then who hopeth to meet his Lord work a righteous work.” 18:110

Nah. He said it very nicely. Just that you dont understand the language so one has to translate and explain it to make you understand what it means. But see, when someone doesn't intend to understand what is being said but has another agenda like saying "this means Gods manifestation" which is you intention that you wish to impose upon this verse you will never get it because obviously you dont intend to. You've already displayed it mate.

Cheers.

Obviously you ignored a whole lot of verses my friend. You keep arguing about meaning of a word, based on an example that has nothing to do with the context of the related verses! It is ok.

Nope. you missed the point. I never argued the meaning of a word. Read again. Its the meaning of a sentence.

You never quoted the context of "Related verses". You cut and pasted cherry picked verses from here and there which you think are tools to impose your false imposition upon a simple verse if one reads in simple arabic with simple arabic knowledge would understand what it means.

Context of surrounding verses.

Now this is the context of the surrounding verses. So try to impose your needed meaning of anthropomorphisation into this.

29:17 "You are serving nothing but idols besides Him, and you are creating fabrications. Those that you serve besides God do not possess for you any provisions, so seek with God the provision and serve Him and be thankful to Him; to Him you will return."

29:18 "If you reject, then nations before you have also rejected." The messenger is only required to deliver clearly.

29:19 Did they not observe how God initiates the creation then He returns it? All that for God is easy to do.*

29:20 Say, "Roam the earth and observe how the creation was initiated. Then God will establish the final design. God is capable of all things."*

29:21 "God will punish whom He wills and He will have mercy on whom He wills, and to Him you will return."

29:22 "You will not be able to challenge this fact, on earth or in the heavens, nor do you have besides God any ally or victor."

29:23 Those who rejected God's signs and in meeting Him, they have forsaken My mercy, and they will have a painful retribution.

29:24 But the only response from his people was their saying: "Kill him, or burn him." But God saved him from the fire. In this are signs for a people who acknowledge.

29:25 He said, "You have taken idols besides God in order to preserve some friendship among you in this worldly life. But then, on the day of Resurrection, you will disown one another, and curse one
