I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, and they waited until today to let me know it was going to be a zoom meeting.

That was strike one. I don't mind doing an appointment via Zoom, but it bothers me that I didn't get a heads up about it, especially since I called yesterday to confirm and they didn't mention it.

Strike two is that when I asked the receptionist why they waited until the last minute to let me know she just ignored the question and started walking me through the steps for "Zooming", which I didn't need and didn't ask for.

Anyway, it's got me wondering how bothered other people would be over something like this. I know I have anger issues, and I'm basically trying to gauge just how out-of-the-ordinary I should consider my emtional reactions to things like this.

Put another way: how likely would you be to walk into the clinic tommorow, smile warmly, and tell the receptionist, "You are a ****ing idiot". And then go conduct your Zoom meeting in the park across the street.

I may or may not make an appointment with their mental health department depending on what kind of feedback I get here.

Please let your doctor know. Your mental well being is just as important as your physical well being. I would be irritated by the ignoring too.

Yeah, I'd probably be annoyed too. Being as you mentioned it was a mental health appointment, even more so. Someone with a mental health issue may not respond well to last minute changes, so that's a bad practice to have in that particular setting.

Not that's there's anything wrong with Zoom. Probably preferable... But, yeah. Notice, please.

Definitely mention it to your provider, and request notifications of changes in appointments at least 24 hours in advance. That's what they expect of the patient, no reason they can't abide by it as well.

So, what you're telling me, sir, is that you don't like TrumpCare? Feel that it's dishonest?

That you're surprised by this?

It wasn't actually a mental health appointment.

May have been part of a recruitement drive for that department though.

I think you getting pissed is perfectly normal.

It sends a message that you are not important in the scheme of things and that you should STFU and do what you're told. So, yes, being pissed is totally appropriate.

But I try to not let that go into direct retaliation. Instead, there are weeds which died a horrible death because of how I was feeling. Digging them up was too good for them. Yanking them out of the ground with malice aforethought was satisfying.

I would be bothered. You might well have needed to make special plans to leave the house, perhaps get a babysitter in these difficult times.

Seems quite rude.

Nothing to do with the system. It has to do with people who know that they'd have to do something pretty extreme before they'd ever need to worry about losing their job.

I would be extremely dissatisfied with the service but most likely not angry. I think it's normal for someone to be angry over this even if anger is very rarely my reaction to something, though.

That said, mental health appointments to talk about controlling anger or anything else you feel is an issue couldn't hurt anyway. I believe everyone could use therapy sessions now and then.

I know. I purposely did my laundry today because I didn't have any clean shirts and my doctor is cute.

To think, I could have put it off for another 2 weeks. :(

It's Zoom. She never would have known the difference.

I agree. Thank God I have the staff to take things out on or I would have maxxed out my insurance years ago.

And thinking about putting laxatives in her coffee, that's normal too, right?

Well, thanks everybody. Nice to know I'm more or less normal when it comes to spontaneous indignation.

Because I wonder sometimes

They should have let you know. Ive had doctors fail to ask me what meds I'm on, but they at least let me know I'd be using duo or whatever (and refuse all alternates even whej I told them it doesn't work well on my phone).

This thread makes me feel more normal too. Because there are certain things from certain people I have little patience for. Being blown off and ignored by anyone who works in anything related to healthcare is one where my own fuse can be very short.
