About astronauts

Spirit of Light

Be who ever you want
The other day I was watching two astronauts getting back from the space station. And some of their tasks at the space station had been space walks.

So I was thinking.
What happens if they fart in space  they can be on a space walk for 6 hours at the time.
What if one of them farted after 30 minutes  that must be a bad trip in space, smelling their own fart for five and a half hour

Well, simply breathing releases carbon dioxide, which needs to get 'scrubbed'. I'd assume any noxious emissions are similarly scrubbed. Oxygen in the suits comes from a separate container.

How do you think they came up with the idea for rocket propulsion?

Actually i was under the impression that men liked to smell their own farts

LOL, I have a really wicked cousin who would approach groups of people chatting at a party, then drop an SBD, walk away and watch.

Chuckle,. my hubby used to do similar only he would hang around, do a sniff, look daggers at one of the group standing near to him then edge away from them.

The more important or snot nosed his victims the more pleasure it gave him. His prize targets were a US general and an environment minister of a foreign country.

The average person farts about 10-20 times a day, so that's a lot of smelling. I quite like the smell of my own farts. Not so much the smell of other people's. And maybe even by own farts would become burdensome after a prolonged period.

That's why they have liquid food, and no beans/cabbage when high up in space

Why does a smell seem to fade after you get used to it? – How It Works

Which is why many do not notice their own body odour or the smells in their house perhaps. :mask:

When I was a child I occasionally watched the cartoon G.I. Joe. In one episode these people needed to go through a vacuum without a spacesuit, so they used plastic trash bags and duct tape to make temporary suits. Now...had they farted under those conditions...
