I’m wondering if the secondary (main) explosion was a tactical nuke. That was positively the largest blast I’ve ever seen.

I don’t think our own “mother of all bombs” that we dropped in Afghanistan was bigger.

Edit: Now we wait and see if radiation is detected.

Hope that loss of life was at a minimum, even though even one is too many. I can't conceive how much damage was done and the life repercussions.

May they find strength to help one another and deal with the psychological effects/

In Norwegian news they say it was a storage of ammonium nitrate that was the cause of explosion. But I do not know if that is correct.

So far 50 deaths and over 2000 injured. It's a tiny miracle it happened during the COVID-19 epidemic, Beirut port's wasn't as active as usual and there was much less people on site. It could have caused a lot more deaths. I hope this isn't a start to a new civil war in Lebannon. The country is deep crisis at the moment and tether on the edge of it.

It went up too cleanly to be just of store of explosive material. even a store of bombs would have been a complex explosion.
This was two distinct explosions. With no after or secondary blasts.

It is still unconfirmed but the Lebanese interior ministry have said that store of ammonium nitrate are the likely cause.

I am sure the fire department has done precisely that. If radiation were detected after an explosion like that the emergency services would be orchestrating a massive evacuation.

Is there any indication of any nuclear weapons that "was used" in this explosion?

Back in 2011 there was a similar explosion I my home country of Norway, and the smoke cloud looked same as in this video. No nuclear weapon was used in Oslo by that terrorist Anders bering brevik.

So why the suspicion of nuclear explosions?
