I'm glad he's taking his time. It's the exact opposite of 'shoot, no aim, not ready'.

Ok, fair enough. Do you think others will see it differently and that there will be a cost for this delay?

Perhaps Biden is waiting to see if Trump will even have a Presidential Election this year...

Of course others will see it differently. That's humanity.

The only cost will be if he chooses badly and that cost won't be very significant. My reading is that VP choice matters little to the vast majority of people. Maybe if there's a real, not politically "gaslit" scandal will some conclude he made a bad choice.

Given the unending stream of abominable choices 45 has made only the far right will really care and their votes are not going to change no matter what.

When he is as slow as Trump was over COVID 19 response (Remember that kills people, VP selection doesn't) you may start to criticise.

Indecisiveness is a terrible thing.

The Democratic Party has a history of circular firing squads that has left too many wounded.
The Trump Regime has a pathology of cruel, vulgar indifference that has left many tens of thousands dead.

One is disturbing; the other is despicable.

Joe Biden originally said he would announce his VP choice the first week of August. Now the will be delayed two weeks.

Indecisiveness is a terrible thing.
So is making stupid decisions on the fly.

But anyway, yes, on the one hand Trump Must Go, but on the other Biden's looking older than his age, little glimmers of forgetfulness, and so on.

If there's a god, its a helluva pity she didn't give Liz Warren just a morsel more of the common touch.

Indecisiveness is a terrible thing.
But it beats dishonesty and incompetence.

And taking a bit more time to try and get it right is probably not a bad thing to do-- unless you're Trump of course.

I think its more like backroom shelving and doing other things instead, while telling people they are still working on it.

Could be a few reasons for the delay.
Indecisiveness is one, obviously.
Could be more strategic, in so far as he's choosing between more than one final candidate, and it depends on positioning of a particular issue, and he's seeing how that develops still.
Could be that they are still vetting a candidate, and trying to ensure no skeletons come back to bite them.

Ultimately I think their choice of VP is more important than meeting a self-imposed deadline.

Joe Biden has been hiding in his basement for months and couldn’t even hold press conferences that weren’t rare and carefully scripted. Yet he still couldn’t figure out his running mate in all that time. A President needs to be able to get the job done. Joe Biden can’t find his way out of his basement. And I don’t mean out of the literal one to run off to hide at his beach house.

Could be, but another possibility is that he may want to see reactions of fellow Dems to different candidates. Kamala Harris' name was sorta floated around, but there was some backlash.

Why should he campaign when Trump keeps digging his own political grave with his lies and actions that you somehow feel are right and moral.

Yet he still couldn’t figure out his running mate in all that time.
I don't know if he knows yet, but my guess is that he does but is waiting for the last minute before the DNC "convention", which is soon. This is certainly not the first time this has been done by either party.

A President needs to be able to get the job done.
:DThanks for the joke as I really enjoyed it.

I think Biden is looking for a VP who not only may be a 'winning ticket' but one who promises a working relationship, not simply a yes gal, but one not afraid to criticize and offer advice. And especially one who is competent to carry on if he is no longer able.
