Running with a false belief?

Are there religious fanatics and/or judgemental religious people because they have a fear of sharing what they really believe about reality and being dismissed as delusional? Are the lies they're telling eating them up to the point of fanaticism?

That's one possible reason.

It's part of the human condition to believe that my opinions are correct and those that disagree are wrong. That becomes fanaticism when someone decides that it's life and death/total good vs absolute evil and they are of course on the side of life and good.

Typically that also involves the certainty that they are right in their views and don't need to question them in the slightest. It can also come from doubt when someone insists they are right to avoid confronting what is really going on.

This is not limited to religion. We have fanatics about all sorts of things but with religion and politics fanaticism can become deadly.

I do not think so. People of Abrahamic religions believe what is written in their books that that is why they are fanatic. Some become atheists (if it is feasible in their environmkent).

I doubt it. Most fundamentalists and fanatics truly believe what they are sharing, and most think it's their responsibility to share their truth. They don't believe what they are sharing is lies.

They see the invisible, and sense the un-believable,
anyway to tread the hidden paths of deceit and lies.

But they worship their `gods` and `angels` and Jesus.
Parents do win that battle somehow, but we're winning !

What makes for fanaticism lies at the definition of the term: fanaticism is single-minded zeal; it is all-consuming devotion to something at the exclusion of all else. Fanaticism is a type of extremism, and it's a term that is often inappropriately used, IMHO. Religion is supposed to be an all-consuming way of life in the first place, but fanatical devotion is another thing entirely. It requires a special degree of self-absorption to be so obsessed with one's ways as to not explore anything outside of that. It's not really about fear as much as it's a product of tunnel vision or isolation.

a belief is worthless, even toxic unless it is provable. Neurosis and psychosis can arise from belief.

Such belief is just hearsay

A lifestyle of willful ignorance and self-deception is a lifestyle of dishonesty. And as Gandhi once said, "Lying is the mother of all violence". And he meant all kinds of violence: physical, spiritual, emotional, and intellectual.

The problem is that once we accept one lie as a "truth", we have to protect from the actual truth, and means telling ourselves several more lies, to 'shore it up'. And eventually it means we will have to thwart those fellow humans among us who have not accepted our fake "truth" as true, because their very existence threatens to expose it. And so not only do we continue to add lies to our lies, but now we add animosity and rejection of our fellow humans to the course of action we've chose to take in life.

And on and on it goes, until our dishonest lifestyle has driven all but those who agree to bow down to our lies, away. And we find ourselves surrounded by nothing but lies, and liars.

This is true, but at the same time gnostics can be narccacistic liars. As it is the nature of Lucifer the fallen angel of omniscience who decieved faith into suffering thus creating ignorance. But, the story goes on and you find out FAITH musnt suffer or risk bigotry. There is nothing closer to light than fire.

But without right faith you have no happiness, your love is with it's own demon, and thus you are hopeless. Less thee may believe the in pacifism which doth turn the devil and dis-belief into naught.

I'm starting my own religion. It is based on passive theism. We believe Lucifer is s fallen angel of omniscience and light. He knew all things and Michael the angel of belief and fire still suffered. But if Michael goes to earth and becomes a biggot he better have had been offering forgiveness to those gnostics. Forgiveness is like a healing to the the wound of suffering, bathes in the waters of Gabby.
