Today is May the first. In the U.S. as of this day there have been 64 742 deaths from Covid 19. There are thousands dying from this every day, and tens of thousands of new infections every day.

And these numbers are expected to increase as businesses open and social distancing eases off.

I am just putting this here as a marker, a signpost in time.

It is one month later. There are still tens of thousands of new cases of Covid 19 every day in the US. Approximately one thousand people are still dying from this disease each and every day. 106 000 people dead at this point in time.

And now you have major protests and riots throughout the US. Cities are burning. And the White House is focused on s petty feud with Twitter.

Tell me, is America Great Again yet?

So it is the first of the month again, so that means rent is due.

And now the rate of infection has skyrocketed up, 30, 40 thousand new infections every day. The number of deaths has not increased according, so that is good, but the death toll is still increasing by hundreds every day. 129 000 dead as of this post.

I wonder what it will be like next month. Will the numbers be down, up, or the same? Will the trumpster fire start recommending people wear masks and social distance? We will see.

May, June. July, and now it if August. And how have things progressed?

50 thousand, 60 thousand, 70 thousand new cases every day. Around a thousand people dying from this each every day. That is a thousand people dead, who didn’t have to die. On the last day of July in the United States 1323 people died of Covid-19. How much longer can you go on like this? This is not inevitable, this does not need to be like this. Wearing masks, washing hands, keeping at least 6 feet apart will save lives, it will save thousands of lives every day.

So what are you going to do? Are you going to make excuses for this and keep going the way you are going?

The so-called President of the United States made a nice speech about the importance of wearing masks and social distancing. And then he attended crowded events without a mask, and then he promoted an insane woman telling you masks are not needed, and then he whined that nobody likes him, and then threatened to delay the election. That is what he did. What will you do?

Seen from outside America there is only one solution for how things can get better.
To get Trump out of office ASAP. And get the health care system to be responsible for how people get treated better. Politics seem to fail in America

1. Just what do you think the President could do to decrease the number of people that are contracting Covid-19 and don't be vague like some of the idiots spouting off in Congress.
2. What could the health care system do to stop people from contracting Covid-19 and don't be vague like a lot of those running their mouth.

The only way to stop the transmission of Covid-19 is for the American people to take the situation seriously and I won't be vague. Wear mask, wash, try to maintain social distancing when it is possible.
Here in my State we are one of the new hot spots. You go into stores and the majority of people are not wearing masks. A lot of stores are requiring masks before they enter the store, but some of the idiots take them off as soon as they get into the store. Some stores will make you leave if you are not wearing a mask, others no. So again the only way to stop this pandemic is for people to take it seriously and be personally responsible.
However your idea is to put it bluntly.....not scientific, just rhetoric.

Leadership matters. If there had been a strong consistent message from this administration from the beginning things would be very different. A consistent message would go long way to improving the situation even now.

I know that there are some individuals who will refuse to where a mask no matter who was President or what they said. But I am also sure many more people would be doing the right thing if the leadership was there.

Every other countries leader (but one) seems to have got it under control with simple measures.

What could the health care system do to stop people from contracting Covid-19

It is not up to the health care system, their job starts when people become ill. However, most other countries have provided funding for the additional workload caused by the pandemic

The only way to stop the transmission of Covid-19 is for the American people to take the situation seriously and I won't be vague. Wear mask, wash, try to maintain social distancing when it is possible.

Precisely, however it is the responsibility of a counties leader to promote these actions and stress their importance, it is not their responsibly to mock safety measures that save lives

Not exactly true and I will explain why I say that.
Our Governor was elected with around a 71% margin in 2018. He has constantly advocated for wearing mask. Do people listing.....NO

I don't think there's any excuses on anyone's part, neither Trump's nor anyone in the healthcare industry. Trump may be many things, but he's not a doctor, so I wouldn't expect him to come up with any kind of cure. That's the job of the healthcare industry, the same industry which has been getting paid exorbitant fees and costs for generations, yet now, when the time comes for the American people to get a return on all the money they've paid, the medical profession is falling flat.

That's what gets me about all of this. Americans have been paying billions upon billions for so long, while hearing the prima donnas in the healthcare industry keep bellowing about how much they "deserve" to get high salaries and that they're "worth it," just like the L'Oriel models.

The fact that countries with socialized medicine are able to fare better speaks volumes about the comparison between the two systems. Because our healthcare system is capitalist, it's been dominated by hucksters, charlatans, con men, and thieves - just like our political system.

The pharmaceutical companies are particularly sleazy, and one thing that I've sometimes heard them say is that they "need" to charge exorbitant prices on their products so as to create incentives for more research and (theoretically) higher quality healthcare. But even then, looking at the results, they've really been nothing but a huge waste of resources, considering how much money they've gouged from the public yet offer very little in return. No cure for coronavirus, no cure for cancer, no cure for HIV - and yet they think they deserve all this money. They've been cheating the public for decades, and hopefully, someday, they'll be made to pay.

He could have taken the virus seriously when it come to America, and not waited as he did. He could have cared about American life and not just about the money.
He could promoted masks from day one.

...thank you. Thank you for not being an anti-masker or covid hoaxist like so many of your political compatriots.

Oh you mean like Biden who disagreed with the President closing people coming from China.
You mean he was wrong to take the advice of medical experts who said wearing mask wouldn't help.
Gee sometimes you people amaze me.

Some of this might be too late but if I have a bit of a time machine:
  • Set a consistent example by requiring and enforcing masks and physical distancing in the executive branch.
  • Don't say nonsense like testing is a problem.
  • Promote contact tracing by implementing it in the executive branch.
  • Don't require people to work in person unless the job requires it.
  • Consistently take it seriously and do no minimize the problem and projected timeframe.
  • Don't give air time to a wacko with demon sperm nonsense.
  • Don't promote a worthless drug.
  • Don't disparage expertise.
  • Don't fire those who are telling the truth as in Florida.
  • Take an active role in procuring PPE rather than putting the burden on states to compete for it.
2. What could the health care system do to stop people from contracting Covid-19 and don't be vague like a lot of those running their mouth.

I actually think the health care system is doing a good job in spite of the political crap heaved at them from the White House and many governors and local officials.

Not exactly true and I will explain why I say that.

Yeah, well, too many Americans act like selfish entitled idiots or "covidiots" to use a contraction. Less would do so if not given aid, comfort and encouragement by Trump.

Elected officials should set a serious fine for not wearing a mask and then enforce it.

If people won't do the right thing because they care and they won't do the right thing because they're not paying attention then the last resort is the "stick".

The vast majority of the time when in public Trump does not wear a mask, plus over and over again he has made false claims and downplayed the severity of what this virus can and has brought. To just blame others but not him as well is just total politically-partisan nonsense.
