Personal Hells

Is this really the best you people can do for hell?
Must be nice.

Hell is when you don't want to live anymore but you cannot kill yourself because you believe in God.
Hell is not having to read posts on a forum, on which participation is optional.

That reminds me. My biggest fear for a long time was my mom dying. Then it happened.
We have that in common. All my life that was my biggest fear because my mom was all I had. Then I got married and my biggest fear was/is my husband dying.

My mom died on 9/11/2007, at age 93, and now it seems like ages ago. It hit me pretty hard even though we did not have an emotionally close relationship. I know I will see her again but the loss is still there till we meet again.

I spent most of my early life in hell due to the physical and psychological abuse, abandonment, betrayal and estrangement from my entire family except for one sister, bullying, losing my belongings, etc. that I went through. I'm not in hell anymore, finally.

Yet one more thing we have in common.
My childhood was not as bad as yours sounds, but it was bad enough to necessitate counseling, 12 step programs, psychotropic drugs and homeopathic medicine, for about 15 years.

Everything in life is relative. I think one reason we suffer is so we can appreciate it when we are not suffering.
I live fully in the present, not in the past or the future, one day at a time, one hour at a time, one minute at a time.
I still have some difficult things to manage but in many ways I am better off than I was a year ago.

Did I say I am glad you are back? ... Well, I will say it again.
One thing that makes life tolerable is people like you on forums. :)
I love my husband but it is best to stay out of his way most of the time.
He came from a dysfunctional family just like I did so we knock heads. :(

Thanks. That's very kind of you to say. I love you, too.

Dots your Is and cross your Ts....bout time you get through all that, the point is lost.
Exactly!
Now make the speech important and personally meaningful to me, yet there are the grammar-nazis.

Ironic, since I am something of a grammar-nazi myself. ;)

Living in a country ruled by a fanatic believer in any religion which is based on the world exactly the way it was when the founder lived.

(or)

Having to respond to every last one of @Revoltingest 's posts in the order in which he posted them.
No one has to respond.
Moreover, it's easier on me if they don't.
Criminy, I come in from some tasks outside to find 24 alerts.

One of mine would be -

I'm stuck in a lift and the lift music is Wagner's Ring Cycle (on endless repeat of course). :weary:

What are your personal hells?

Well, I've been through various kinds of hells in my time, but one of them would be an eternal traffic jam. Today, there was an accident on a major thoroughfare, so they closed off a whole section of the road and diverted everybody. It was a mess, and all the traffic spilled in to the neighboring streets. That was hell.
